Good luck to Ammon. After witnessing the Nelson/Lark fiasco I'm sure
he saw the writing on the wall.
Since nobody can predict the future we just make the best choices we can at any
given time then do our best to be prepared for what wonderful opportunities or
challenges come our way.I was sorry to see Ammon leave BYU but best
of luck to him!
Best of luck to Ammon with the T-Birds.
I was shocked he had even made it to Provo, so not surprised at all that he
left. Probably the best fit all along but he got too excited to become the next
Steve Young or something.
I wish him luck. I'm sorry he was not given a fair shot at BYU.
He's right were he needs to be. Followed his heart. Big is not always
better. In a great situation with Gary at the controls of the offense. Should
be a fantastic year for the SUU T-Birds!!!
I was sad to see Ammon leave BYU but I'm glad he has gone to a coach and
program that can still propel his career. As for the Cougars, the back-up QB
position is solidly in the hands of Christen Stewart who is proving to be more
than up to the task.
To be clear, I wish Ammon Olsen success; I don't know him except for
watching him play in high school where he was very good. However, I have seen
several stories crowning this guy as the starting QB at SUU and I am wondering
why? Did they have to promise him the starting spot before he transferred?
They have a returning senior QB there named Cantu who led them to the playoffs
last year and was a JC All-American. How is he feeling right about now? Was
there an announcement made naming him the starter? Olsen hasn't proven a
thing that I have seen so why all these stories? The Pedersen kid is probably
the best QB of the bunch; what happens to him? No chance because he is a
redshirt, RM freshmen? Someone explain to me why all the annointing without
proving himself? People I know who have been at scrimmages have said he has
been average throwing several picks? Open competition anyone?
Sure am glad I have anonymous commentators here to tell me how smart they are
and how dumb and unfair the BYU coaches are.Otherwise I might have
thought by the winning record and bowl appearance that they were a decent group
of guys who were capable of judging talent.
Ammon is a passer, Hill isn't. What did the coaches not see? Glad he's
found a home. I still think the QB we are stuck with will give us another
average year. He would have been better as a running back or receiver since he
loves to run; you don't win championships with a running QB
Welcome back Ammon. We are glad to see you in a Thunderbird jersey again. No
doubt you will get playing time with us. Maybe even start. I can't wait
to see what the future holds for this guy and my team. Looking forward to
another playoff visit.
@ sgBYU is going to win at least 9 games this season, regardless of
who is playing QB.
I wish the best of luck to Olsen at SUU, but lets be honest. Taysom was the
obvious choice for starter at BYU. Although it doesn't guarantee anything,
I will take the Mannings' view of Taysom over what the Ute trolls think of
him. The Mannings must think Taysom has a bright future, since they don't
invite just anyone to be an instructor at their Passing Academy. I am thinking
his passing will be much improved this year, making him a true dual-threat QB. I
am sure Olsen will do great things for SUU, but I would take Taysom over him any
"I will take the Mannings' view of Taysom over what the Ute trolls
think of him."Are you crazy!? Surely you must know that the Utes
play in the PAC-12! THE PAC-12! Knowing that, are you still going to take
Manning's view over Ute trolls'?
