9. Remember that it took your parents 25+ years to accumulate the things they
have. Unless you're independently wealthy, as a newlywed couple you're
not going to be able to afford leather furniture, a 4000 sqft home, a huge
plasma TV, and a late-model SUV. Those things will come in time, just like they
did with your parents. Too many newlyweds think they will be able to continue
the lifestyle they just left - that thinking will cripple your financial future.
Remember, you're newlyweds - you're supposed to be poor, and it's
OK because you have each other. You don't need luxuries to make you happy.
