That is a sad story.
Instead of having $100's of thousands in medical bills; if you act fast, then you should be able to get your child enrolled in health insurance.
There are no pre-existing conditions, and that way instead of having to help with hundreds of thousands, the community could help with the premiums of the insurance.
Medicaid and CHIP should also be available right now if the child is under 19 years old.
