This article shows a wonderful perspective and loyalty to his wife and children. I agree...the right choice was made here. Will he continue teaching? I assume he still has to be the breadwinner. Best of luck to you, and God bless your family.

West Jordan, Utah

I've always been a huge fan of Coach Steve Galley. I've known Coach Galley for twenty plus years and can respectfully say he never placed principles, or values, over winning. From Olympus, to West Jordan, to Riverton, his teams were always respectful, at the same time fierce competitors. Coach Galley was a players coach to the end, and was always truthful with those he influenced through basketball. He valued every relationship, making sure those who didn't make his teams, feel valued, beyond measure.

Galley is a rare breed anymore, and I'm afraid that the likes of him our disappearing.

Galley's Silverwolves reached four Final Fours, and two Championship Finals. It's true a state title may have eluded him, but in the end he stepped away his own champion.

Thanks for the memories Coach!
