1st day of spring ball huh? Has Kyle replaced the OC yet? Who's the new
coach? THis program is about as stable as a 3 legged bar stool!
Reno Cougs Fan 68--"AZUTE1,Go ahead and tell us all how
Utah would have a schedule like Notre Dame if they were independent!!!"Nowhere in my original comment did I make mention of any other school
nor make a comparison nor reference how byu came to having this schedule....I
merely referenced byu fan's interpretation/description of
it.....Furthermore, you're thanking me for my "continued interest in
our closest rival" while you're posting your comment on a U related
@ Reno Cougs Fan 68 "This years schedule is fine and much better then any
WAC or MWC schedule BYU or Utah for that matter ever had!!!So your
saying BYUs 2104 schedule is tougher than Utah's 08 when they beat 4 top 25
teams including two top 10 teams. Please expound Reno Coug.
@AZUTE1 "It boggles the mind how anybody associated w/byu can keep a
straight face when attempting to talk up their schedule!"Agreed,
unlike basketball when all Cougar fans could talk about was Utah's weak
schedule, BYU fans will not make a peep about SOS in football given they are
playing the likes of:2-10 Virginia whose two wins were against BYU
& Virginia Military Institute 3-9 UConn who lost to Towson State
and Buffalo1-11 Cal12-1 UCF which is losing almost every
skill player to graduation or the NFL1-11 Savannah State who lost to
Howard, Bethune Cookman, N.C Central University, NorfolkSt., Florida
A&M, Delaware St., Troy and Georgia Southern8-5 Texas with a new
coaching staff4-8 NevadaChris Peterson(less) Boise
StateMiddle Tennessee State who lost to North TexasUNLVAnd the two toughest teams on the schedule 9-5 Utah St. &
8-5 HoustonExpect BYU fans to speak only in terms of wins &
losses in 2014 and never about strength of schedule. Even though Utah only won
5 games last year Sagarin still had them ranked above BYU... and we know how
Cougar fans like those rating services over head-to-head results.
Dirt,I will predict a 7 win season. I think 8 wins is a possibility
if the O line comes together, 3rd receiver emerges, and the secondary is
solidified Blechen and Carter. IF (I recognize it's a big if) but if the
young players over the past 2 years and Kendal Thompson is as advertised, I
think the team could even weather the injuries that have plagued them, even at
QB, over the past 2-3 season.
AZUTE1,Go ahead and tell us all how Utah would have a schedule like Notre
Dame if they were independent!!! This years schedule is fine and much better
then any WAC or MWC schedule BYU or Utah for that matter ever had!!! And with
more games being on TV!!! BYU just needs to win and rankings and bowls will take
care of themselves!!! Thanks for your continued interest in your closest
rival!!! Go BYU beat the Ducks!!! Rise Up!!!
yes, let's talk about football while basketball is at it's height.
Might as well, that basketball team was terrible. Actually they had some depth
and good players but their style sucked the life out of 'em. Hopefully next year, after their drought, they can make it to a post-season
game via football. Who will predict they squeak in to a post-season game with
a 6 win team? 7 wins?
I love that KT timed his unofficial to be present at opening practices this
week! Go Utes!UU--"How does that BYU schedule look?
Same as last year or worse. I'd say worse, much worse."It
boggles the mind how anybody associated w/byu can keep a straight face when
attempting to talk up their schedule!
@Down under "It seems like this was the same story as last year"Actually it will be a bit different than years past; Utah no longer has
the built-in win against BYU. The question for 2014 is whether or not the Utes
can get to a bowl game with the likely #1 SOS in the country. Last year's
SOS was #3 but Utah replaces BYU with Michigan and Weber State with Fresno
State in '14. How does that BYU schedule look? Same as last
year or worse. I'd say worse, much worse.
Its so good to hear that Wilson's healthy. Here's hoping it stays that
way. Can't wait to see how things shake out after Thompson gets
here in a few months.GO UTES!
I will be interested to see if the tempo talk actually sees the field. Since
the days of Schramrod we have been hearing about an up tempo offense, but it
hasn't really seen the field except in spurts last season.Looking forward to seeing how the QB battle plays out this fall.Go
Yawn. In all reality, when was the last time anyone's read about a college
football team/coach who didn't feel good about their first day of spring
practice? Absolutely no news here with absolutely nothing decided.
It seems like this was the same story as last year. I imagine that the outcome
will be the same. The utes also felt good about winning their game tonight
Thanks for the update, Dirk. Good news on Moana Ofahengaue!
