This reminded me of my oldest son - he used to always call my husband by his first name as a preschooler. We got used to it, then eventually he grew out of it. Now he is 15 and when we watch home movies of him as a youngster it really cracks me up. He has always been a real character, and is a great kid even as a teenager. I expect Mateo will be quite a fun boy to raise!

I had a daughter that spoke clearly like this guy, only she was under two years old. I would have these long drawn out arguments with her and it would be so infuriating... until I realized that although she was good at speaking, she wasn't good at understanding what she was saying. She'd learned quickly that by parroting back key phrases she could carry on conversations, but she didn't understand what she was really saying.

Now that she's a teen, we don't argue anymore. Cuz now that she knows what she's saying... well... I'll never win another argument again. :D
