Utah can be seeded 4th?

My prediction before the season was that Utah would finish between #4-#6 in the Pac 12.

Been a great season, and now Coach K plans on going dancing. I'm planning on thee same.

Onward and upward to pac 12 and march madness glory

Utah can't finish better than 12th in the Pac 12.

Oh wait.

Utah can't beat byu.

Oh wait

Utah can't beat UCLA

Oh wait

Utah can't destroy ASU

Oh wait

Utah can't beat our rival Colorado

Oh wait

Utah can't win the Pac 12 tournament

See a pattern here?

Go UTES!

It doesn't matter whether the Utes finish 7th or 8th, they won't get past Arizona or UCLA in their 2nd game even if they manage to win their 1st game of the conference tourney.

BYU beat Stanford. If Utes lose to Stanford (which I likely), who is the better team - BYU or Utah?

If BYU does dancing, and Utah does not (which is likely), who is the better team?

But I do acknowledge, Utah is a better team than I thought U'd be - mostly because of Wright. He is the best player on the team.

Here's hoping for a great game. If they win, that 4th seed looks likely. if they lose that 8th seed looks likely.

You gotta love college basketball. You gotta love this team.

Go Utes!

Utah can't beat lowly #225 Washington State on the road

Utah 2-7 on the road this season

Utah 4-30 lifetime on the road under coach k

Yes, we see a pattern

The Utes will lose to Stanford, finish 7th or 8th in the PAC, maybe pull off a win against a 9th-12th place team in the PAC tourney, then lose to Arizona or UCLA to end their NCAA tourney quest

As many predicted last fall, Chris Hill and coach k killed Utah's chances for an at-large bid before the season even began by scheduling one of the worst OOC schedules in the country

phoenix-

That's what they said last year about the Utes winning any game in the conference tourney. Right before they knocked of USC and Cal.

I guess that is why they play the game. I like our chances. They are peaking at the right time. One thing is pretty certain. The Utes will play a tough defensive game. Their opponent will have to earn it.

Playoffs,

Know what Chris hill did do? Schedule Utah one of the hardest conference schedules in the nation.

Holmoe, Dave rose, and roscoe have been unable to do that!

"BYU beat Stanford. If Utes lose to Stanford (which is likely), who is the better team - BYU or Utah?"

If only there was a way we could organize a contest where our two teams actually played against one another to help us determine which one was the better of the two. Though hanging around here it seems such a match may never occur ... oh well, lets just keep comparing final records and similar opponents, even if one team played that opponent the second game of the year (immediately following the loss of their star player) and the other is playing them the final game of the regular season (emotional senior day at that).

I don't know, I'm still thinking there may be something to this head to head competition idea of mine.

Fortunately, we don't have to speculate. Utah beat BYU 81-64. The game was never close. Who is the better team? Clearly, it's Utah.

CFiT, what would any of that matter or have to prove? Especially when so many BYU fans claim BYU has "moved on" from the blowout loss to Utah, evidenced by BYU's successful season, while also claiming that it's Utah's team and fans that hang their hats on any win against BYU, which is contradicted by the fact that they've had a successful season as well. At what point does one really "move on" and let it go?

It is interesting how close the middle of the Pac 12 is, and in spite of my mild distaste for the U, I almost kind of think it is sort of a little cool they are in the mix and could be as high as the number 4 seed. As for the Stanford game, I predict a close Ute loss, mainly because it is on the road and the U has a total of 2 road wins this year. If it was at home, I would predict a close win for the Utes.

In all fairness, it should be mentioned that depending on the result of this game and other Pac 12 games this weekend, the Utes could also fall as far as the 8 or 9 seed (I didn't take the time to look in to all the match ups and potential tie breakers so I am not sure exactly what the lowest is thy could fall).

So this is a huge game, against a good opponent, on the road. Oh, and it is also a huge game for Stanford so you can expect them to come prepared with their "A" game. To quote Han Solo, "good luck... you're gonna need it".

Utah's top two scorers shooting 6 for 27 at Cal isn't exactly "peaking", regardless of how you spin it.

The truth is the Utes were lucky to pull off a road win against a team that has completely tanked the last few games.

No playoff for U- There is a pattern with the Utes. But you don't seem to be seeing it. The pattern is sustained improvement.

Under Coach K the Utes get better as the season goes on. He gets them ready for the end of the season. Can they win today? We'll see. But if you look at the pattern, you can be pretty sure they will put up a good game.

Did Utah beat Arizona or UCLA in the conference tourney last season?

When was the last time the Utes beat Arizona or UCLA in a road/neutral game?

Swoop
Salt Lake City, UT

Loveridge and Wright once again shooting bricks from outside, sloppy turnovers, giving up offensive rebounds... the Utes are clearly over-matched in this one.

4-30 road record tells the tale of how things are on the hill. NO NCAA for the utes again this year.

The most likely scenario; U stays home again this year and will be watching BYU in the tourney

Which team is better will be determined by which team is invited to the Big Dance and which team isn't.

Chris Hill killed Utah's chances for an at-large bid by scheduling the 346th WORST OOC schedules in the country.

RBN,
Tell us who is the worst road team in the state? 4-31 is a major LOL.
BYU IS the better team and if you want to check back over the past 13 games. One game in the HC does not make the utsies better. They were only better for 40 minutes over the pasT 13 games.
