Riverton really missed their sophomore center Tiena Afu in this game. Ever since she went out with an ACL a few weeks back they have struggled even though they kept pulling out wins. Props to Alta though they still beat a really good team.

I watched Riverton through last year's championship run and this year through their undefeated season through State. The difference between the two teams seemed to be leadership on the court and the ability to handle pressure. Last year the team didn't go undefeated, but their region also had tougher teams. Last year the team played more as a team with really good players, but not just one stand-out. This year everything was so focused on the two Richard's girls, especially the one that played last year, that the rest of the team seemed more like just a supporting cast. When she was struggling it was tough for the rest of the team to pick up the slack. This year's team lost the maturity and consistency of last year's championship team. It is too bad because I was truly hoping for a repeat for the coach. Congratulations to Fremont. They won like Riverton did last year by playing as a team. I do agree with @the Real Deal, the Afu girl would have made a difference. She really helped last years championship team and she was only a freshman. I
