If it's way too early, tehn why do it?

The one and only power conference team coming to Provo?

The mighty Virginia cavaliers. The team so bad they only won one game all year against division 1 teams.

Four Mountain West Conference foes
Three American Athletic Conference foes
One USA Conference Foe
One Non FBS foe
and three foes from a major conference with a combined 2013 record of 11 wins and 26 loses.

As is it is most things, water seeks its own level.

Wow, with games vs. Utah State, Nev., Boise State, UNLV, etc. BYU might as well just join the MWC.

Enjoy those 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday night starts vs. those MWC squads because we all know BYU games "aren't in the afternoons anymore."

Look on the bright side byu fans - even though your schedule is horrible(and that's putting it nicely), at least you don't have a guaranteed loss to big brother Utah in your Super Bowl this year.

Get those quest t shirts ready! Well, at least until you play Virginia.

I am enjoying watching BYU play teams that they have not played before, or that often. Win or lose it is a new experience and the opportunity is always there for the win.

It is interesting to see the quality of fans with these programs. Some are real sportsmen, while others are Lewd and crewed.

Some programs have real enjoyable fans.....

Virginia was a tough loss this last year. Let's hope for a good year!

Thanks for the summary Chris B! I think I am just going to skip the BYU-related articles all together, and just see what your commentary is...it's much more helpful!

Seriously though.....why the need to antagonize. Utah doesn't even play BYU...why do you feel that with every small thing related to BYU needs to be criticized. Keep your comments up on the hill where they belong.

Let's all grow up a little bit guys.

I am excited about byu football, very excited to see Taysom play. Great schedule to build there identity for coming year.
I love being being cougar fan, I don't need to belittle other team to feel good about myself. I wish I could say same thing about little brother on the hill.

Where to start.
1. If we were in the MWC we would have to also play CSU,NMU, and Wyoming and not get paid for it.
2. BYU makes a lot more then several MWC schools combined
3. BYU doesn't have to go to Wyoming anymore.
4. BYU gets more exposure being independent.
5. BYU has no Tuesday or Wednesday games just Thursday, Friday and Saturday games should look at the schedule again.
6. BYU will be on ESPN, and ESPN 2 for several games.

It is 12-25.
We also have a 12-1 UCF Fiesta Bowl champions I'm guessing when you say "As is it is most things, water seeks its own level." this is what you meant.

Water does seem to level itself, bottom of the conference. Touche!

As usual, the Utes comment on BYU articles to show how jealous they are of the Cougars dominance.

BYU is big brother and is one of five schools in all of America with a national fanbase. The only reason there are any Utah fans at all is because they didn't have good enough grades to get into BYU.

BYU will clean the table and go to a big-time bowl again during this coming year. Once again, the Utes will stay home after the regular season and cry in their Christmas presents.

BYU proves year after year its the better program by making bowl after bowl and having winning season after winning season. Go Cougars!

Here is where I get confused with the BYU and Utah banter. Yes, BYU has a terrible schedule this year, and BYU fans will admit it. Utah fans scream of their successful affiliation with the PAC-12. Utah fans need to remember, the PAC-12 got you your game with Michigan in their deal to play the Big-10. Utah fans also need to understand that you too scheduled a Mtn West Conf team to play that you always say that is all BYU is. Then why not just schedule BYU to keep the rivalry. I am guessing it is because it would be a closer game maybe and you most likely get to stay home with anyone else. And, Utah fans, you scheduled Idaho State, no different than BYU scheduling a D2/FBS team. Yet you mock them. And BYU fans, you all scream at Utah fans, and they are part of what could be considered an elite conference. You have to give them props for that. But Utah fans, they only reason BYU wasn't invited is a Sunday play thing and you all know it.

BYU is doing the best they can to schedule teams, and it takes a few years to set up. If you look at BYU's future schedules it gets better and tougher. We all scream how the SEC and other conferences play lame non-conf schedules and they scream back saying the SEC is so tough so they have too. Well, in the SEC, I am sure there is not to much worry the weeks they play Kentucky, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt..who will be back on the slide again now that Franklin is gone. So BYU and other non-conf teams do the same thing that Utah and other school do. You have to have a cupcake in their somewhere, and Utah has theirs in Idaho State, Wazzu, Colorado, Cal, OSU, Utah can't play themselves. So it is comical to listen to the banter of who is better. Sorry BYU fans but Utah has proven it on the field the last 4 years, so if you want to say your better, beat them the next time you play. And Utah fans, you have been BYU's little bro for a long time, so deal with it.

Cowboy Dude

UtahBruin "...and Utah has theirs in Idaho State, Wazzu, Colorado, Cal, OSU, Utah can't play themselves."

Utah does not play CAL this year (or last), which is why the PAC-12 says again, "Utah has the toughest schedule in the PAC-12."
