Christian's comments are right; the tree streets are a great place to raise families, but this is only one of the many reasons why the council voted down the route along 900 East.

I'm hopeful that the mayor, UTA, and the council can find a more future-minded route that encourages long-term ridership and strong development downtown. The 900 east route focused on opening day numbers and would have likely failed due to its slower route in mixed traffic.

900 east already has a lot of busses on it, and they are always empty. Rapid transit is effective because it's rapid. Mixed traffic on an already busy street just doesn't fit the model. Provo needs BRT, but not if it is just another bunch of empty busses.

Good luck to the decision makers! Honestly we all hope you can get this one right!
