The statement that bighorn sheep were wiped out by excessive hunting is incorrect. As the article points out, diseases from domestic sheep and goats are easily transmitted to wild sheep. That was the primary cause of the disappearance.

If the management of the department of
Wildlife Resources of the sheep is anything like
what I have seen with the mule deer in the Gunnison
valley near Green River, heaven forbid.
