    This is the kind of project that is fun to do, then after its done you admire your work for a while, but then it just takes up space and you don't know what do do with it.

    Reminds me of a project I once read about, where a man built a replica computer that the Apollo landers used on their moon trips. He found the design at a university library, spent time tracking down the (now obsolete) parts. Then assembled it. After having it for a while he didn't know what to do with it, so he donated it to a musum. Building it was more fun than having it.
