Jazz Source, Burks had played so many minutes that he was hanging onto his
shorts between breaks in the game. Corbin rested him right when he needed, look
what he did when he came back. I don't care how young you are, you
can't play effectively if you don't rest your players. I can hear some
of the comments if he didn't rest him and they got beat on tired legs.
Package Hayward Kanter and warrior's pick...to the bucks for their pick and
and expiring contract if they have any...or Larry Sanders...he'll be a nice
piece coming off the bench...if we get number 1 with the bucks pick...we get
Embiid...and with our pick we get Dario Saric as a replacement for Hayward...a
lineup of Embiid Favors Saric Burks and Burke...would be nice...then we will get
a nice young and deep bench....with Neto Clark Evans Gobert and/or Sanders...we
get a legit 7 footer as a C...a 6'10 PF and a 6'10SF...that's
length in the front court...Saric is known for his play making abilities...so he
will replace Hayward in that aspect...athough we would be paying Sanders a hefty
contract...but he loves being a 6th man...and i think him coming off the bench
bringing energy will help the team...along with Evans and Gobert...clark would
probably get to shoot the ball more and be able to show his shooting skills
I mentioned this yesterday after the Laker victory. Burks is really the player
who looks like he could develop into a star. You just simply can't be a
star if you are constantly in a shooting slump like Hayward is. Burks, even on a bad night from the field, still can consistently get to the
line and score points. 26 points in 25 minutes??? Wow.Late in the
4th when Corbin pulled Burks, Garret, and Evans and plugged in Hayward,
Jefferson, and Trey I turned to my son and said "what a horrid
substitution...all these guys are shooting poorly and the 76ers are going to
make a run. Within a minute the "starters" had blown the entire 10
point lead and showed no ability to stop the bleeding.Fortunately
someone clued-in Corbin and told him to reinsert Burks to undo his original
blunder. We all know how it turned out.Burks ability to get to the
line and draw fouls puts him on a tier beyond any other player we have.Sure last night was the 76ers but he did the same thing against Miamis good
defense.Give Burks the ball and get out of the way.
TRADE Hayward.Make Burks our franchise go to player!!!Please Jazz management get something valuable for Hayward before he is worth
nothing. 3 for 17 shooting? Sorry Gordon, but business is
I will never understand why the Jazz let Carroll go.
Brandon Davies is injured. He's probably out another 3 weeks or so.
Does Brandon Davies play for 76ers and no talk about him if he played? I know,
this is about the Jazz. Well, good job in winning it I think.
Don't tank at all Jazz guys! And Come On, Jazz fans. Last year our plan
was that these guys develop their games. We all pretty much agreed and made the
transition and got rid of a bunch of good players so these players could have
the opportunity to become great. There is always some hyped up prospect on the
horizon but very few of them actually live up to it. None of our all time great
players were #1 picks. The coming draft is supposed to be a deep one anyway so
we could get lucky, even with a lower pick. We don't want to be the team
that is so bad that even if we get the #1 pick and he becomes a great player, it
takes us so many years to build the team up around him that he becomes a free
agent and leaves. I say we've seen enough from this group to know that
they should not sit on their hands and wait for someone else to bring this
franchise back to glory. Let's quit rooting for them to fail, get behind
them, and enjoy whatever successes they have along the way.
I know some folks were upset when the Jazz let the likes of Millsap, Jefferson,
Demare Carrol, and Foye leave via free agency this year. I did hope we would
keep Carrol but the Jazz went another direction. However, this has opened up
the playing time for Burks and Evans that they would not have otherwise received
and these guys are both really blooming. Burks I think will be an all-star
(hopefully still wearing a Jazz uni) and Evans I believe will continue to evolve
into a very solid player. Good job Jazz brass.
You're killing me, Smalls! Here's the thing: Beat the
teams with better records, but TANK against the teams with worse or close
records. Quit beating Philly, Orlando, LAL, Sacramento, Detroit, Milwaukee,
Charlotte, New Orleans, Denver...
