The COugs showed that they have good balance and beat a very good SF team ranked 79 in the RPI.
Take acre of business this weekend and you are poised to make a run in the WCC tourney. I love that BYU tv is broadcasting all WCC tourney games. What a blessing to have such a great programming asset that can be viewed nation wide.

I loved how the Cougars gutted out a win. The free throws are frustrating. We were over 90% for the most of the previous game. Carlino was really good. He can be frustrating at times, but overall, he helps the team. Rose does a good job of handling him. I wish Austin would be a little more offensive minded. He passes up shots he can make.

So I'm listening to the game with my wife and the cougars get the ball toward the end of the game. I say to her, they should call a time out and take Collinsworth out of the game. SF will foul him and he will miss the free throws. This happened twice.

byu's fortunate they play in a conference which currently has 4 teams whose RPI ranks in the 156+ category/6 in the 100+ category, as well as USF at #93.

Until dr preaches/teaches D & FT shooting, he'll continue to produce post-season futility, which is all about The Tourney....Although it's Gonzaga and the rest, GU is not too far behind byu for the most Tourney app w/out ever reaching The Final Four.

Thanks for azute's troll coaching expertise and insights, but I think the WCC will be unimpressed with that level of understanding. They are unlikely to lower their academic standards to be more competitive with other Pacific coast conferences.

Great points on the RPI and SOS. It would be WAY better to have the 188th ranked strength of schedule (Utah) than #20(BYU). Not to mention the #350 non-conference schedule (wow how many teams are there!) as opposed to #4. BYU has travelled all across the country, while Utah left the state of Utah ONCE prior to conference play (and lost).

Not quite sure why you feel they are fortunate to be playing teams that are taking down their SOS and RPI. I thought that was bad.

Utah is fortunate to be in the state of Utah, a state which currently has 3 teams predicted to make it to the NCAA tournament this year (per ESPN's Joe Lunardi). Crazy that Utah is fighting to even crack the top 5 teams in Utah, behind projected tourney teams BYU (11 seed), Weber State (16), Utah Valley (16), as well as USU. At least they have cool stickers they can put in their car windows.

Liked how they scrapped last weekend. That was very encouraging. This is a team that will be incredible, next year. They're flaky this year and might get lucky and do some damage this year still. Enjoyed watching the last couple of games. The effort on defense and hustle was great. Great to see Haws fight through being invisible for part of the game and then still post really good numbers.

Great game on Saturday...way to play tough. I watched the game on BYUTV which says it broadcasts in HD. It does not look like an HD broadcast to me. What's up? Anybody know?

Danville, CA

Cougs108 - BYUtv is broadcast in HD but not everyone has it on their HD platform. If you have Comcast in Utah you can watch it in HD. If you have DirectTV or DishNetwork, they do not have it as an HD channel - which is too bad. You can always use ROKU and watch it in HD.

Draper, UT

cougs108, BYUtv does broadcast in HD, but only if the carrier is willing to pay the extra to make the channel an HD channel. DirectTV is one that will not pay the extra fee to BYUtv and so we are left with the fuzzy picture.

Lindon, UT

How about watching it on the internet, byu.org. Would you get HD over the internet?

Cardston, Alberta

Kyle Collinsw is the total package with one weakness: free throw shooting. NO ONE brings to the team what Kyle brings. He could possibly use two or three more minutes rest mid way through the second half.
