Chris B,Seriously, I think it's time to move on. You don't
need to continually bash BYU to make up for your school not winning enough. You
asked for the Pac 12 so it's time to live with that decision. The Utes will
never be a true power in the conference so long as USC, Oregon, Stanford, and
UCLA are there. With that said, I don't think BYU will be going anywhere
either as an Indy. Fact of the matter is that BYU won't go undefeated and
as such won't make a big time bowl game.
2ferRemind us how many Utah basketball recruits were still in
diapers in 1998.It's laughable how the definition of
"ancient" is defined by the kids living under the crimson bubble
depending on the sport being discussed.
@ Max-was-rightToday's recruits weren't even alive when
those things happened... It's ancient history to them (and everyone else
outside of Utah County).
byu currently leads the 2014 recruiting battle 2.67 to 2.61. This massive
difference of .06 would be the first time byu beat Utah in 5 years.
54-10Wait, tell us all again who has a Super Bowl MVP and a hiesman
Tator,Keep telling yourself recruits don't care about the lack
if nfl draft picks for bronco compared to whit and they don't care since
very few make it. Ya you'd like to believe that's how recruits think.
But, utahs had a higher star recruiting class every year the last 4
years. So apparently the better players ARE picking Utah for one reason or
another. But I do concede utah's future is even tougher without
the automatic win over byu
FTI actually mostly agree with your prediction, except in my
prediction, BYU will win 10-11 regular season games and beat a 5th or 6th placed
Pac 12 team in a bowl game and it might be Utah. I guess I am more optimistic
about both of our teams, but I admit I am usually optimistic to a fault.
I predict BYU will proclaim a very great recruiting class, win 8-10 games and
lose to a 5th or 6th placed team from the PAC 12 in a bowl game next year. And
as a realistic UTE fan I have to admit, that won't be us.
TatorsHyrum, UTYa the top collegiate players want to play a
pathetic schedule and in a bowl game against a 6th place BCS school.Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel relevant.
In the PAC12 virtually every regular season game is superior to a BYU bowl game.
Playing Washington for BYU was a dream game. The bowl payout for BYU nothing
compared to what Utah brings in every year from the PAC12.
I was hoping to get to this BYU article before Chris B. did... something hard to
do. But I see that 54-10 is filling in for him. @ 54-10:First of all, very few players ever have a realistic chance of playing in the
NFL anyway. However, they do have a reasonable chance of playing in a nationally
televised bowl game if they choose the right team. And based on
recent history, any high school player who has bowl-game aspirations would be
advised to steer clear of Utah. They couldn't do it this year (or last) and
their schedule is even tougher next season. BYU and USU on the other
hand, are both likely to continue their current multiple bowl bound records.
That's a consideration for recruits. It's never fun to lose
at any level. And based on recent happenings and looking at future schedules,
any player who chooses Utah will probably be experiencing more loses than wins
over the next few years. There won't even be any wins over BYU
to brag about for at least a few years... the only nail they've recently
had left to hang their hat.
Max-was-rightspringville, UTThe stickers are cool. But if the
player wants a shot at the NFL, he chooses Utah or Utah State for that matter.
If a player wants one of those neat-o pac ten stickers, he will choose Utah. If
the same player wants to play on ESPN and play in a bowl game, he chooses BYU.
I think BYU has a good shot at all these guys, except Mama who is headed to USC
by most accounts. Should be a good day tomorrow.
