Why is this happening, or at least being reported so much in the state of utah. I currently live in a state with many times the population of Utah, but cases like this are few are far between. It seems over the last couple of years these cases have become a steady diet in the state of Utah.

Is it happening more, being reported more, or is it just being under reported elsewhere. Very sad that our kids are not safe in the one of the place they should feel safe...

UtahBlueDevil,

Most kids in Utah are members of the Mormon Church. Local Mormon Church officials conduct regular interviews with teenagers to help them along life's difficulties at that age. If a teenager has experienced any immoral conduct with an adult that will quite often come to light during the course of these interviews. Utah law requires all religious leaders to report such conduct to local law enforcement authorities. That is the reason these cases come to light in Utah which is a good thing in my opinion.
