Interesting guy… seems to have had a good soul.

Like a lot of bleeding heart liberals, his heart seems to have led him in some politically misguided directions, but in the end at least we knew he had one – which is more than I can say for many on the other end of the political spectrum.

And from a religious standpoint he sounds remarkably similar to Spinoza (and later Emerson, Thoreau and Whitman) – his view of God is so large and expansive that by the standards of organized religion he’s an atheist.

Ah yes. Seeger--a man who supported Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. Vehemently, too.

Seeger supported Hitler? I don’t think so.

Seeger was a Communist during the years leading up to and during World War II. Communists and Nazi’s were never very comfortable with each other.
