Why no celebrations at LDS institutions?

From what I read in my e-mail just two days ago, the Deseret news was going to be more strict in what comments they publish. But by the first comment, which had nothing to do with the article, was published. Did they question why no celebrations from the Catholics, the Jews, the Muslims etc. why single out one group of people and ask why they did not celebrate and how does the above comment know if there were no celebrations. Just because the news didn't cover it?

I think Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man and a peaceful protester. He didn't try to anger people he just tried to peacefully get his message across. Wish he would have lived longer. It would have been interesting to see what he might have accomplished.
