There is and was no right wing in Germany or Europe for that matter.
It is misleading, misinformative, and plain bad public education and a disservice to continue using the term "right wing" in reference to Germany and European politics.

There was only left, the socialists lead by the National Socialist party (the Nazis)
and the further left, the communists,

Siblings fighting over who would be in control.

I think you have a serious misunderstanding of European political history during the 20th century.

The far Left, with all their faults, never singled out an ethnic or religious group for mass slaughter. But just what does one have to do to be considered a German RIGHT wing group, Mr. truth?

"Bitterness continued to exist between the SPD and the KPD for years, as both claimed to be the true representative of socialism in Germany and both believed that they had been betrayed by the other. One of the reasons Hitler's movement would be so successful is that the two most powerful parties on the political left hated each other far more than they hated the Nazis."
------------
The really ironic part to all this is that was essentially fratricide among competing socialistic factions.

Remember, the full name of the Nazi party was, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, which translated is the "National **Socialist** German Workers' Party".

The only reason the socialists of today refer to the Nazis as "right wing" is to try and associate their political opposites with an almost universally despised regime, while conveniently ignoring the fact that the Soviet Union, China, N. Korea, Khmer Rouge and every other Communist regimes are responsible for even greater mass murders than the Nazis.

The inescapable conclusion is that socialism, especially in its extreme forms, is incredibly destructive and deadly.

According to samhill:

"The inescapable conclusion is that socialism, especially in its extreme forms, is incredibly destructive and deadly."

How about this version of the above--

The inescapable conclusion is that private enterprise, when it is taken to an extreme form, has been and can be incredibly destructive and deadly.

Major example is the enslaving and transportation of millions of human beings from tropical Africa to South America, the Caribbean, North America and western Asia.

This was NOT done by socialists of any variety. The slave trade and the use of slave labor was a no holds barred application of private enterprise and private property rights.

I agree that this right/left stuff is OFTEN total nonsense. It is not possible to place anarchists on a scale that has totalitarian movements on each end.

According to Mark B

"The far Left, with all their faults, never singled out an ethnic or religious group for mass slaughter."

What about classes of people?? The Soviet Bolsheviks killed or deported to Siberia millions of Kulaks. CLASSICIDE should be recognized as just as heinous a crime as genocide.

Per Mr."the truth"

"There was only left, the socialists lead by the National Socialist party (the Nazis)
and the further left, the communists,"

Your assertion that the "ONLY" Socialists were the Nazis and the Communist is absolutely NOT correct. They were the major totalitarian Socialists. Mr. Carson talked extensively about the SPD--Social Democratic Party of Germany. There are democratic Socialists--believe it or not.

Painting everybody the same just because they are a Socialist or a businessman is a serious error of judgement.

Example: A South Caroline slave trader in 1805 was a businessman who believed in private property. Warren Buffett is also a businessman in 2014 who also believes in private property. There needs to be some proper and honest adjectives put before the word businessman when it comes to a slave trader businessman and businessman Mr. Buffett.

Some proper and honest adjectives also need to go before the word, Socialist.

There are more types of Socialists and businessmen than there types of breakfast cereals sold at your local supermarket.

Per Mr."the truth"

"Siblings fighting over who would be in control."

The totalitarian Communists and the totalitarian Nazis are indeed "Siblings". But the absolutely important word is the adjective "totalitarian" is needed.

Willy Brandt was chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1969 to 1974. He was also a leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. He was a Socialist, but not a totalitarian Socialist. There are many types of businessmen and Socialists in today's world, in 1805, in 1919 and from 1969 to 1974.
