I like it when stories like this have a happy ending. All too often they end in tragedy. Good job to the rescue team that found him.

Too bad he can't count this as a winter camp for his camping merit or his wilderness survival merit badge (wasn't with an authorized scout leader). But I'm glad he knew what to do to survive.

How about a follow-up story that tells what he did to survive. A short how to survive bit would certainly serve the skiing/boarding community.
