Huge commit. I love how this class is coming together.

Welcome to the Ute Family, Andre.

Go UTES!!

Big time pick up for Utah. A ton of prestigious programs wanted him and he knows Utah has a bright Pac 12 future.

And yes, the number of guys Kyle Whittingham puts in the NFL came into play here.

Best program in Utah

Best coach in Utah

The Pac 12 Utah Utes

Not only has Utah won the head to head AND average star recruiting EVERY year the last 4 years, but Utah's worst year of the last 4 years is better than any other school in Utah's best year of the last 4 years.

And once again, we can thank our Pac 12 membership for a lot of that. Most big time players want to play for big time programs and play against other prestigious big time programs week in and week out.

Welcome aboard Andre!

Go Utes, onward and upward

Why did it take so long for any local papers to report this?

He had offers to UCLA and Wisconsin, among many others. Great get for the U.

Welcome Andre! GO UTES!

Big time commit. The Ute defense is looking like it will be stacked next year. Now we just need a QB to make it through the year without a major injury.

Top safety?

The kid is a 3 star recruit and is the #126 safety in the country according to scout.
Nothing to write home about.

@Fight on

"Nothing to write home about."

UCLA, Wisconsin, and West Virginia were hoping to be able to write home about him.

I guess they should have consulted you first.

We just got more stars than before and now we are more prestegous than even before so here we come rose Bowl!

Go Utes!

truthsandwich,

That was funny, though lets be honest, "Fight On" set you up nicely for that one.

Pretty tough for any unbiased observer to deny that Godfrey is a fantastic commit for the Utes.

Congrats on the recruit. And as much as you would like it to be Chris the Utes are the best team in the state behind Utah State.
SI just ranked Utah State 25th in the nation.

"Utah has a lot of good coaching stability"

Since he plays defense he probably, understandably, doesn't care that we're on our 15th OC in 15 years, but one wonders if he considered when he make that comment that he'll more than likely see a whole new coaching staff for his sophomore year.

Erickson's contributions to the team are paying big dividends in recruiting. In addition to Godfrey, who looks like a very good recruit, they have commitments from two other decent DB prospects, and very likely could get another good one from WR Kenric Young, who has offers from Wisconsin, UCF, Nebraska, Mizzou, and Minnesota, among a lot of others.

Does the kid know there is never a week off in the pac10.2 when you are a ute?

There is a week off in the pac10.2 when you play the utes however.

Northern, while I would like to agree with you... no utah schools are in the SI top 25.

USU did get 2 votes, but that's it.

Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Arizona State, Washington did make the top 25 from the pac... I guess that makes the utes good? LOL

Meant to mention that the other two DBs, Monte Seabrook and Tavaris Williams, as well as Young are all from Florida, which is Erickson's primary recruiting zone. Forgot to mention, though, that Brandon Snell, JUCO All-American WR, a Louisville commit out of high school before opting to go JUCO and reopen his options, is also from Miami. Those are some great in-roads to make with coaches in that area.

Great pickup! Our secondary with a healthy Bleechan and Miami transfer LB Gionni Paul was already looking better then this year, adding Godfrey will only add much needed PAC-12 depth.

#11 Stanford disagrees!

Awesome pickup! He knows about Wedds, and hopes to play like him. Sounds like he's already on the right track! Go Utes!

This is a great pickup for the U. The next few years they should be loaded at DB.

Congratulations to the Utes for getting such a great commit. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the results of gaining these great commits would show on the field playing against the rest of the PAC 10+2. Perhaps if the Utes get about 20 more they can win more than 2 games next year. Not knocking your team, just acknowledging your schedule. Looking like 1 sure win, 3 toss-ups, and 8 sure losses.

"Huge commit. I love how this class is coming together."

One of the weakest recruiting classes in the PAC 12.

ASU, Arizona, USC, UCLA, Stanford and Oregon all have ESPN Top 40 recruiting classes.

Utah isn't even close.
