Big time upset for byu last night. With Gonzaga losing to mighty Portland last night, this conference could be a 1 bid team by the time March comes around.

When no rankings come out there will be exactly ZERO ranked teams in the West Coast Cupcake Conference.

Not very impressive

Only in the delusion world of CB is a #37 RPI team beating a #136 RPI team considered an upset.

A true upset is the lowly #150 Utes beating the #37 Cougars, which simply proves the axiom that on any given night a lesser team will occasionally upset a better team.

Talk about a cupcake schedule.

BYU is the ONLY team in the Top 100 Utah has beaten. The vast majority of Utah's 12 wins have come against non-Div 1 teams or teams ranked in the Bottom 100, that is, #264 or lower.

Versus RPI Top 100
BYU 3-4 (all of BYU's win on the road or at neutral sites)
Utah 1-2 (Utah's lone win at home)

Don't expect the Utes to improve much on their dismal 1-18 road record in the PAC. If they're really lucky, the Utes might improve their conference record from 5-13 to 6-12.

utenanymous,

Based on your "logic" you would call Duke beating byu an upset right?

Since byu has a higher RPI than duke?

LOL!

Sorry pal, RPI doesn't mean anything this early in the season. byu's rpi will start to plummet as you play a nobody conference and real teams are playing other real teams.

Sorry to burst your crimson bubble, pal, but Utah's record will plummet now that they've started to play real teams.

You obviously need a fact checker, or new glasses, because most of your analysis isn't based on reality.

8 of BYU's remaining 14 opponents are listed in the RPI Top 100 and ALL but one have a higher RPI than #150 Utah.

"Based on your "logic" you would call Duke beating BYU an upset right?"

Someone is really suffering a meltdown.

#30 RPI Duke beating #37 RPI BYU would hardly be considered an upset by anyone.

"RPI doesn't mean anything this early in the season."

Are you kidding? BYU has played 17 of 31 regular season games, Utah has played 15 of 30.

We're well into the second half of the season and RPI is becoming very relevant.
