Re: PacMan "BYU and Coach Rose have established themselves as an NCAA
tournament worthy competitor."When was that? BYU and Coach Rose
couldn't even be significant in the tournament with the Jimmer and you
know how often a talent like that comes along. Make an Elite Eight or Final
Four and then you can boast.Coach K has the team is on the move and
that movement is upward. However, they do need to start winning some road games
and hopefully that begins tonight .
PAC man"BYU and Coach Rose have established themselves as an
NCAA tournament worthy competitor."By getting blown out by Utah
and then losing to LMU and Pepperdine? Or did they do it by being an early exit
from the tournament 16 of the past 17 times they got in?
Here we go again... back to those silly "LOL" insertions again. And all the kids on both sides with their "My daddy can beat your
daddy" mentality. What's so hard about hoping that all the
local teams do well and consequently represent our state well. There will be
room for all the locals in post-season play if they do well enough. I hope they
sportyguy"RPI is only used to determine which of the bubble
teams should get in"Do you honestly think the Utes even have a
prayer of being a bubble team?BYU and Coach Rose have established
themselves as an NCAA tournament worthy competitor.Utah and Coach k
have no such national cachet - Majerus's program died almost a decade ago.
*continuedSub 40 if they don't qualify for consideration. There is nobody except those living in fantasy land that would look at
the two teams records and head to head play and say that the team with the worse
record and a 17 point beat down head to head is the better team.
@Pac Man,RPI is basically a reflection of SoS. RPI is only used to
determine which of the bubble teams should get in, it isn't used to
determine the rest of the field in the NCAA tournament. In other
words, it won't matter if BYU is sitting at 18 wins with an RPI of
PAC,Current RPI rankings show byu "better" than duke,
lousiville, and North Carolina.LOl!Keep telling yourself
RPI means something so early in the season.
PAC Man,Current BPI rankingsUtah 43BYU 57Current scoreboardUtah 81BYU 64Thanks for stopping by
to visit another Ute thread. Your obsession with all things Utah is amusing.
Hopefully there will be toughness and maturity on the road, both of these games
are winnable (not easy).
Pacmanstop trying to stir the pot. You know as well as I do, that
Utah can earn an at large bid. Their RPI will climb as they continue their
Pac-12 schedule.Obviously Utah has to win games, and show they can
win some on the road while holding serve on their home court. If Utah ends up
going 11-7 with a few key wins, especially down the stretch, and 1 or 2 in the
Pac-12 tourney they will get to the NCAA.Now, that's a big IF,
the Utes have to show that not only can they compete with the top teams in the
Pac-12, they have to knock some of them off. If they do, they are dancing, if
not, it'll be the NIT.Go UTES!!BTW, since you
brought it up, on real time RPI BYU's RPI has already fallen to 39, just 3
games into the WCC schedule.
Oh, for a two for two road trip to the state of Washington. I'll take one
and be happy, but I think this team could be hot at moment and nasty it up
enough for a sweep. I would be in hog heaven if Direct TV carried the Pac 12
network. Till then, Bill and Jimmy on the radio will suffice just fine.

the country's worst pre-season schedules, 40% of the season, the Utes
forfeited any chance of getting an at-large bid to the Big Dance and the Utes
have absolutely no chance of winning the PAC tourney to get the PAC's auto
bid.The best the Utes can hope for is an NIT bid.Current

Love this team and coach KBest team in Utah by far. Our quest for
march madness is very much alive. Go utes!Go PAC 12
