Looking forward to the start of the conference. Time to make some noise.

Go Utes!!!

It about time. Beating up on nobodies like Katherine community and wcc lightweight byu was fun, but it's time to start playing real teams.

The prestigious PAC 12 utes are by far the best team in the state and the best chance of making the big dance.

Go utes!
Go PAC 12!

Chris B:

Before you call Utah a prestigious Pac 12 team, how about they win more than 25% or their conference games? I think your team qualifies as a nobody as much as anybody on your schedule. Go Ducks!!

I just hope we show up. If we lose by less than 20, it's a win in my book.

@daviscoug

At 0-2 in the prestigious Western Catholic Conference (WCC), I would think you would try and keep a lower profile.

Good luck in the PAC12 Utes. I think this team is looking strong, and the guards and Utah's length will give people trouble if they aren't prepared for it. Great to see the Utes getting back to form with coach Krisko.

The Ducks are probably wishing they weren't playing a nobody and could play a real team.

@jerks-r-us

Yep and so do the odds makers, the Utes have no credibility, Ducks are a whopping 3.5 pt favorites.

In the print edition delivered this morning, the "Extra Stuff" segment to this story notes "[t]he Utes crushed the Cougars 81-64", while the update to the online version of the story says the Utes "prevailed".

When I posted this earlier, somebody took exception to my observation about the DNews, or y "fans", or the plethora of "Likes".

Even funnier!!

"The Ducks are probably wishing . . . "

And you would know that, being the great Duke, FSU, Colorado, former BYU fan you are.

jarka-rus,

"The Ducks are probably wishing they weren't playing a nobody and could play a real team"

I know I was thinking that when we played byu.

I doubt they feel Utah's a "nobody" after losing to the Utes by 10 in the final regular season game last year.

Jarkarus,

That's what LMU and Pepperdine were wishing last week. 0-2 in the WCC? LOL

@ 81Ute:

Watch your assumptions. You know what they make of people, right? Let's see what the score is tonight before we decide who should keep a lower profile and who shouldn't. If the Utes win, I believe that they could be in for a special season. If the Utes lose by anything less than 10 points than that shows that they could be a respectable team and possibly will go to the big dance, but may not prove anything either. If they get crushed, well that really proves nothing. Could just a bad night for them or a great night for the Ducks. However, if the Utes continue to lose as a prestigious Pac-12 team, then maybe they aren't so prestigious. And that has nothing to do with BYU, or any other in-state team for that matter, but rather with the Utes and their ability, or inability, to win games. But if they continue to win... well, then get your travel plans ready.
