Its great that police are training, however police can't be everywhere at once.

Teachers and other school officials willing to carry a weapon are part of the solution. Teachers have to maintain certification to be a teacher. Allow teachers to train on weapons and defensive techniques use as one of several means to maintain their certification. Also consider giving teachers who are willing to take upon this added duty, .. added pay.

What about protecting public places that are not schools? Certainly businesses have the right declare their place of business a gun free zone, this is their property. However given that gun free zones are proven to be among the most dangerous places in America, require such business to post warning signs. ...

Warning, this is a gun free zone. As such, it is more likely here than at other business establishments that the only people carrying a gun will be bad people, not good people. Enter at your own risk.

A great number of college students conceal carry, we are probably more protected than most states. Two of my roommates carried. I'm great flu for the 2nd amendment that allows us to defend ourselves.

What if a teacher or citizen had a concealed weapon and started firing out of fear? I think this kind of drill causes more fear than a planned training like a fire drill. There was some risks taken that were not that smart for a police dept. to do. Without letting everyone in on it being a drill.
