Congratulations Cougars for having an easy enough schedule to make a bowl game.

You beat Texas, but lost to Wisconsin and ND.

Lost to horrible Virginia and Utah.

Good thing played other bad teams, so that could go bowling.

Uncle Rico..When was the last time Utah beat Boise State? Maybe that's why Utah isn't going bowling!

"Congratulations Cougars for having an easy enough schedule to make a bowl game."

You've got to love the sour grapes coming from little brother. BYU's schedule was ranked #37th in the country (better than Utah's 2nd best schedule in program history).

You're probably right though. SOS is probably more important than actually winning games... that and being a cellar dweller in a top conference, of course. I think Utah should be playing in a BCS bowl this season instead of all those crappy teams with schedules weaker than BYU's (which is 6 of the 8 BCS bowl teams).

Michigan State #56
Stanford #4
Baylor #61
UCF #91
Alabama #46
Oklahoma #44
Clemson #53
Ohio State #57
Florida State #63
Auburn #20

Hope that Coach can keep the kids focused on football enough to win the game. Bowl games are tricky with all of the other other distractions and routine changes that come with not having a stack of homework to worry about before and after the game. Easy for young men to forget what it takes to win in this situation. Utah, well they get a few more months to worry about something other than football. BYU still has some football worry about. Hope the team plays like they are capable, lots of capability, too many times we have seen less than capability.

Congratulations Cougars for having a tough schedule and making a bowl game.

You beat Texas, Utah State, Georgia Tech, Boise State, and Houston.

Lost to horrible Utah, and Virginia.

Uncle Rico makes a comment about BYU's strength of schedule and seems to not see that 8 of BYU's 12 opponents are playing in a bowl game. He is trying to make himself feel better about Utah sitting at home for the second straight year. He points out that BYU had terrible losses to Virginia and Utah. His strength of schedule argument sounds like what Utah fans love to call "Poppinga victories".

Perhaps he should concentrate on who Whittingham will hire at the conclusion of next season to be the latest offensive coordinator. That is assuming that Whittingham will be back as the coach after missing a bowl game for yet another year.

Uncle Rico, "lost to horrible Virginia and Utah"

I wouldn't say that Utah is horrible - just not very good.

Uncle Rico is just jealous that the Utes weren't good enough get past lowly 6-7 Washington State to qualify for a bowl.

4-5, 3-6, 2-7 = 9-18 overall in the PAC; it's quite obvious that the Utes are nothing but cannon fodder for the big boys of PAC to pad their conference win totals.

Enjoy the couch potato bowl.

What is their obsession with spending time in prisons?

Utah isn't horrible at all. In 2013 they own BYU in multiple sports. As for football, they owned BYU for the past 4 years. Yes, BYU is going bowling, but I am sure there are many seniors on the team who would have loved to say they beat the U at least once...don'tcha think? I know I would.

LOL at your feeble smack.

Alcatraz is a tourist attraction that hasn't been used as a prison since 1963.

Toughest BYU/Utah SOS in History (per Sagarin)
2013 Utah(5-7) #3
2004 BYU(5-6) #11
2003 BYU(4-8) #14
2013 BYU(8-4) #37
2012 Utah(5-7) #41
1999 BYU(8-4) #45

Bottom line: BYU had a tougher schedule this year, than Utah had last year. If Utah had beaten Oregon State(6-6), Arizona(7-5), and/or Washington St(6-7), the Utes would have gone bowling, so stop blaming your 2nd straight bowl-less season on your schedule.

Pavalova: OF course you would, because you are obsessed with BYU. I think our seniors would rather say they went 4-0 in bowl games than to worry about how they did against the utes. But thanks for your concern.

Just like the 80's, BYU has once again become Utah's bowl game.

However, I'm guessing there are many Ute seniors who would have loved to play their junior and senior year bowl games in December rather than September.

The Hunger Bowl will be BYU's 9th consecutive bowl game (2005 to 2013), matching Utah's longest bowl string (2003 to 2011), but far short of BYU's longest bowl string of 17 consecutive bowls (1978 to 1994), which is as many consecutive bowls as Utah has total bowls.

Uncle, that is FUNNY!!!

Utah beat Weber State, Utah State and BYU and STILL couldn't get to a bowl game. Was it the PAC 12 schedule? When they played Washington State and Colorado they should have won just one more game besides the Stanford fluke, but they couldn't handle Arizona. Bwa-ha-ha-ha. Face it, Utah wasn't very good, just like last year, and the year they had a greased schedule to the First Pac 12 Championship Game they had all the stars line up and then promptly lost to the worst road team in America in SLC when Norm Chow was the OC. Talk about laying an egg......

Enjoy the bowl season from your sofa,.....yet again!! Get used to it, that's what you wanted....PAC 12 games and lose rather than easier games and win and go bowling. Smiles to you!!

I AM a BYU fan and it makes me sick this team can generate enough emotion and fire to beat the U...four years running. Don't kid yourself if you think losing to the U annually is good enough even though we go to a weak bowl. The season would be much more fulfilling to beat the U AND go to a bowl. Just saying. If you took a straw poll, most Y fans would feel the same way.

I'm a Utah season ticket holder going to San Fran on Thursday! (I wasn't going to mention it, but these dumb posts by Y haters just stuns me.)

Those that can't root for more than one team is missing out on half the fun.

I will be having a lot more fun than some of these posters this weekend.
