Good story, nicely told. The nuts, apples and oranges in the sock struck my own memories of Christmas past. I know all about Surly Temple. I loved her movies, my wife is some one who loves dolls. We had her once, in two or three sizes. The devastation of the loss to things like is ineradicable.

A very nice story, except the dates are incorrect. The Shirley Temple doll wasn't manufactured by the Ideal Novelty and Toy Co until September of 1934; in time for Christmas that year.
