Congrats to Matt. Wish we had a runner like him on the team right now.
Way to go Matt!! Love it!
@ThomasJefferson:"My question, why is this his first
start."Maybe because Matt plays behind the best running back on
the planet? Peterson was hurt so Asiata got the start. Your
reference to "Ute fans that somehow want to make this about your PAC 12
membership", that should only be directed at one Utes fan with several
screen names (Chris B, etc.). For the record, it's annoying to the majority
of Utah fans as well.Fantastic game Asiata!!
Yeah, well good for Matt. I really wish him the greatest success. But
all three touchdowns were pieces of cake; anyone could have run through those
holes for less than five yards.Nevertheless, I do believe he has
great talent and he'll do well.
Sweet! Loved watching Matt put Alabama in their place. And, Matt -
your dad had a front-row seat to this game - and all games in your future!
Watched this game with a host of Packers fans with a few Vikings fans mixed in,
and with every touchdown Matt had, I felt like Buddy the Elf: "I know him!!
I know him!" Couldn't be happier to see him bruise Eagles defenders on
TD runs the way he used to do to the likes of the BYU, Louisville, and Alabama.
He's come a long ways, from his injury-riddled college career, to being
undrafted, to making the practice squad his first year, then the active roster
the next, and the adversity he's had this year with his father passing.
Congrats, Matt. Hope to see many more games just like it!
Way to go, Matt. It's been a long time since you were a freshman in my
college comp class at Snow, but I've been following your athletic career
ever since. I'm sorry about your dad. I'm sure he's proud of
you and watching your success. --Kelley
Let's be happy for Matt and his family first, then we can mention the PAC
12, the Utes and the Polynesian pipeline without taking shots at our instate
From a BYU fan who is only slightly more fond of the Vikings then I am of the
Utes (not much at all), congrats Matt. Hope you can keep it up.
Well done Asiata. Great to see a local have success in the NFL. Island pride
Well, as perhaps the only Minnesotan to post here, let me say this:for the
first timein a long timeVikings win bigtimeWe don't
really care back here iln the nethermost parts of the kingdom (grin) what school
the stars of the game attended, BYU, Utah, Oregon Stanford. It is all relative.
Minnesota Vikings won the game, and Asiata was one of the heros. Love his
effort, glad he got his chance, hope he gets many more.Ted, Excelsior,
And the Pac 12 Utes continue to DOMINATE the NFL conversation with local
schools. And its not even close. You think recruits know
this? You'd better believe itYou think recruits care
about this?You'd better believe it.Go Matt!Go Pac 12 Utes
Love seeing this. He's put in his time. Hopefully this is just the
beginning for him.
Great news about a great young man! Congrats Matt! Always a thrill to hear
about young polynesians making an impact in the NFL. Hope his success continues
and leads to bigger and better things for him and his family in the future.Go Matt!!!
Wow. Who is that mascot in the picture? Thor? It's hilarious.
Asiata is a nice young man that has worked very hard to get to the NFL and stick
for 3 years. Was fantastic watching him score three times today. I'm a
big Vikes fan and was thrilled to see him get a chance to play.
Congrat's to Matt! Well deserved!!
Great accomplishment for Matt Asiata...well done!
A great guy from a great family wearing a great number. Good for you, Matt! Your
father would ave been so proud.
Congrats to Matt. He's fought through a lot of adversity, and
it's really nice to see him succeed.
