“The world tells… that fathers and mothers are not important to a successful family”

What world is that, Mars?

So very true that the philosophy of this day is that marriage, family, children, sacrifice, differences in gender, are all nonsense. In fact, I just overheard today a woman saying that children are fine but you can't spend too much time helping them. You need to live your own life. Worst of all, my 18 year-old daughter is drinking all this kool-aid. It's me, me, me. I have seen it several times and have seen the results. It isn't pretty. When she hits 30 or 40 and is all alone, will it be too late to smarten up?

Don't be so quick to discourage others setting you up on dates. Ask any newlywed couple how they met and they will tell you it was through another person-family member, roommate, ect. Oh, that we could all be so lucky to have a "dating brigade" helping us narrow down that perfect eternal companion with lots of dating opportunities but I was always on my own in that arena. Now I'm a 39 year old dead fish lying in the bottom of the dried up dating pool. With 82,000 sister missionaries soon to return home, something will have to be done to encourage more dating and less "hanging out" because nobody wants to end up like me.
