I agree that the PG and MM should repeat as state champs at the state tournament. They will both have several individual champions that will make them hard to catch. Both teams were defeated at the Millard Ironman tournament last weekend. I wish that they had a "state dual championship" as well. One team may do well at individual tournaments, but another would do better in dual meets.

Something to think about

Syracuse beat Box Elder...

Syracuse has s strong program going. Their coach works as hard as anybody. They're a team to watch as well.

Millard Ironman Duals tournament results
Pleasant Grove 1st place
Pleasant Grove vs Maple Mountain 65 - 40
Pleasant Grove vs Millard 45 -12
Pleasant Grove vs North Sanpete 81-0
Pleasant Grove vs Canyon View 67 -3
Pleasant Grove vs Mountain view 48-6
Pleasant Grove vs Payson 48-16
Pleasant Grove vs Delta 51-13
Pleasant Grove vs Stansbury 69-6
Pleasant Grove vs Maple Mountain 2 69=6
Mountain Crest vs Pleasant Grove 30-25

Mountain Crest will be tough in 4A. PG will take 5A... UNBRE4KABLE

Sure would be great to have Scores and Schedules, Rosters, etc., in the Wrestling area of High School Sports here on the Deseret News. I know its tough to get all the info, but I've really enjoyed seeing that for football, basketball, baseball, and even soccer, volleyball, softball. I'm an old Delta alum, and its hard to get a lot of info until the state tourney.

root for the underdog
Delta, Ut

More like 5 straight state championships for Delta and 31 total. Let's get your facts correct.

With Millard and Delta both in 2A, then add Beaver and North Sevier, and 2A is now the toughest level of wrestling in the State of Utah. The other divisions have a few tough teams here and there but nothing like the number of quality teams in 2A.

Disagree county mom. The weakness of 2A is evident in how many pins there were at the 2A duals. Millard and Delta are far superior to Beaver and North Sevier.Delta and Millard would compete for a title in any division. Beaver and North Sevier wouldn't come close in 3,4, or 5A

For a realistic perspective on the relative strength of the classifications, try wrestleutahdotcom:
1) PG-5A
2) MM-4A
3) MC-4A
4) Uintah-3A
5) Syracuse-5A
6) Layton-5A
7) BE-4A
8) Delta-2A
9) Payson-3A

IMO, even though 2A only has one top 10 team, 2A is a little better than 3A this year, but nowhere near 4A or 5A.
