Great news. It is good to see the march to marriage equality still continues despite the prejudices within the state of Utah.

Well done.

Well done, IH! For others, step by step the pressure is mounting to do the right thing. Which business, public service, or church will be the last to have to admit that equality applies to all? History will remember who that last intolerant entity was.

This is just so wonderful. I mean, now those wonderful gay couples can get acceptance by the main stream...NOT!

Private business and their choice. Some may think it is great, but I think it encourages immoral and destructive behavior. I will avoid giving any of my business to IHC.

Given that the University of Utah hospital system also offers benefits to same sex couples, you will have to look pretty hard to find a medical provider that meets your criteria. Not to say they don't exist, but you have eliminated a big chunk of the market.

"Additionally, the change helps the company stay competitive as more Utah employers begin extending benefits to same-sex couples, Burgess said. Those companies include University of Utah Hospital, ARUP Laboratories, Zions Bank, West Valley City, Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County."

This is great. The power of the purse at work.

There really isn't much justification for continuing to ignore the Full Faith and Credit clause of the US Constitution. At least the private companies are beginning to acknowledge this fact. State governments will catch on eventually.

Just doing what hundreds of publically owned companies have already done because consumers and the public preferred it. As usual the people lead and goverment follows.

Perhaps Hobby Lobby or Chik-Fil-A will take out your ruptured appendix?

Good luck with that!
