I expect the start of this game to be very intense. Boise is no doubt out for blood after the Utes blew them out from the opening tip last year. If it stays close after the first 7 minutes, I expect a very exciting game the rest of the way.

I think the Utes get a reality check slap in the face this time. The level of competition goes up significantly over who they have played so far. If they can beat BSU, Utah is farther along than I thought and I will give credit where it is due.

Sorry utes - the Broncos are too good for you. Drmic is the world's biggest flopper, but he is good.

Good test for the Utes. Boise State is undefeated, but they haven't played anyone noteworthy either.

Let's go Utes. Get this win on the road and keep the train rolling.

Good luck to the Utes.

"With just one road game, the Utes play fewer road games than any team in the Pac-12 Conference, and it marks the first time in 40 years the Utes have had as few as one non-league road game".

Now that is just the ticket for developing a road tested team. What does this say about the direction of the program? Cowardly scheduling is the way I see it although the utes fans will not be able to see anything wrong with this type of scheduling of coaching.

@Gone Fishin

I appreciate your concern, as always, but with 4 of the last 7 games on the road: including #2 Arizona, and #18 UCLA; they will be tested just fine. Would I like to see a few more tough, non-conference road games? Of course. Will Utah be thoroughly tested during conference play? Of course.

Just what exactly will playing 4 of Utah's last 7 games on the road prepare the Utes for?

As much as you may like to pretend otherwise, playing only one road game and the weakest OOC schedule in the entire country certainly isn't going to prepare the Utes for the rigors of conference play starting in January.

You should expend your energy worrying about the stellar line up Holmoe put in place for football program next year. Oh, and then there's the stellar line up byu basketball faces once conference play begins. That is one sorry story, right there. In fact, apart from a couple of obvious good teams, byu's preconference lineup (basketball) is nothing to write home about, either.

It isn't like your talking points haven't already been fully debated on these boards. It's fun watching you watch the Utes.

To the point of the article...I give our Utes a good chance of pulling off the upset. Coach K and the assistant coaches know what they are doing and will have a good game plan in place. Can't wait for the tip off.

Gone fishin didn't mention BYU. Criticism does not make you a Cougar.

Is this game on TV?

Anybody know? Please enlighten. Thanks

"byu's preconference lineup (basketball) is nothing to write home about, either."

Uh.....did you even bother to look at it or did you think just saying something was your best course of action?

BYU has already played 2 top 25 teams and several other good teams. They play several more cmoing up. In fact BYU has one of the hardest pre season schedules in the country. BYU only plays 2 home games during the month of December, all the rest are on the road.

Nice post. LOL!

I don't recal saying it would or wouldn't prepare them for anything. Conference play will prepare them for the conference tournament, which will prepare them for post season. As a Gonzaga fan, I have watched the Zags play a brutal non-conference schedule. Play a weak conference schedule and a weak conference tournament. Then get dumped in the 2nd round of the NCAA. Utah will be tested later, rather than sooner. March is when it counts. As far as how they do in conference play, let's wait and see. I hope that helps.

Drmic is a junior, btw

Mountain West Conference games are on CBS Sports Network.

I think this game will be the first time we really have any gauge for where the Utes are this season. I understand the philosophy behind this strategy and hope it works the way they want but I'm a bit skeptical on how prepared they'll be when they have to go up against Ore. in Jan.

Are the utes finally going to play against a real college team. They got a great warmup with savannah state and those pesky grand canyon antelopes. sad schedule thus far. I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do to get 6 wins
