The reason why BYU flew in the day of the game is actually not a secret. BYU was unable to get a Hotel for the team in Reno. The closest hotel room was 2 hours away by Bus. This is longer then the plane ride from Provo to Reno. Who ever the travel coordinator for BYU was did not take into account that there were the Reno Air Races going on that same day which had booked out the hotels in the area.

Is this an excuse for the loss? or something for the fans to grasp onto to excuse it away? I don't know. what I do know is that was a horrible game to be at, both the stadium, the fans, the drive back after the game, It sucked. And was the beginning of a horrible time to be a BYU Fan.

"For some reason, the team flew into Reno the day of the game" Hey Cosmo of the 60's, how about doing a little research? The reason the team flew in is that whoever was in charge of reserving hotels for the team dropped the ball and the only suitable one they could find was about an hour away from Reno. Crowton made the decision feeling that in this situation it would be better to keep his players at home with familiar surroundings. They were going to have to spend roughly an hour traveling to their destination either way. While Crowton's reasoning was understandable, in hindsight he should've chosen the hotel outside of Reno option because flying in the day of the game sent the wrong message to the Wolfpack and BYU fans have since used it as a source of ridicule on their dislike of the man. The fact that BYU struggled that whole season makes the time they fly in to games pretty low down on their list of problems that season.

Oh by the way, the player in the picture Crowton is talking to is WR Matt Allen. Google is your friend Cosmo.

This Nevada team won't be a cake walk either. They held SJSU to only 16 points their last time out. They have lost to UNLV at home, which is never good. They have their potential threats and I hope the team is ready and not road weary. BYU could easily lose. Luckily, Nevada allows 35 points a game, so I can see this game having a similar score to the usu game. They haven't fared well against any team with half a defense.

Redemption from a game played a decade ago with an entirely different coaching staff???

That's a bit of a stretch even for a former Cosmo.

The vast majority of BYU fans would most likely join me in seeing this more as KVN's homecoming game, ala Jimmer's return to his home state during his senior season.

Redemption is a pretty charged word. I think they would be satisfied with a win as a tribute to KVN.

Striker, BYU should win this easily. It would take a losing effort possibly greater than that in Richmond to lose this one.
