re: 2 bits"Too bad he can't give the Panama Canal away to a

thoughts... 1) The Muslim Brotherhood is calling the shots in Egypt, 2) There
may not have been the need to take out OBL if W & Dick had a clue about
foreign policy, & 3) Like Noriega, OBL was useful at one point.
@pragmatistferlife said:"Now you may have companies who's
existing plans are more expensive than what the same plan will be on the
exchanges who will opt to have their employees go to the exchanges and still pay
the premium differential they currently do, but that's a good
thing."Hmmm, it's such a good thing, Obama, by dictate, put
the employer mandate off until after the 2014 elections. Nope, nothing to see
here...just move along. And we thought the individual mandates were
devastating; just wait until the employer mandate kicks in. No wonder they put
it off until after electionsObama lied about Americans being able to
keep their current health plans if they liked them; he lied about Americans
being able to keep their physicians if they liked them; he lied about the costs
of this monstrosity; he's lied about everything dealing with HIS signature
Obamacare.Sadly, folks like you will never turn on your
messiah...even when he lies to your face. Obama and the Dems own this mess.
If he could be Carterized enough to be honest, and love his country, and his
countrymen, that would be an amazing improvement. But his policies
would still be severely misguided.
@EsquireIt's amazing that Leftist/Progressives just can't
come to grips that Bush hasn't been the Chief Executive for 5 years. It's also rich watching progressives complain about the State-run
media manipulating Obama's dismal approval numbers. I mean, Obama's
sinking approval numbers just couldn't be because of HIS policies now could
it? No, it must be the media manipulating his numbers. Using your logic, we
could also say the media cooked Bush's numbers too...right?You
are aware that Obama has had several off the record meetings with Obama at the
WH...right? If Bush tried this crap, you'd be screaming bloody murder.
Media manipulation. Pfft. BTW, for the millions who lost their
health coverage under the "individual mandate" provision in Obamacare,
the sky really did fall for them.
E. Sam: You are right. In six months, conservatives like me will be eating crow
if Obamacare is running very smoothly and everyone is happy with our new
socialized healthcare system.Unfortunately for America, the chance
of that happening is about the same as balancing the budget, paying off the
national debt, getting unemployment back down to 5%, or having all the other
countries of the world like us. I, for one, won't be sharpening my
crow-eating utensils in anticipation of the miracle you describe.

pragmatistferlife,Re: "just why will employers be forced to drop their
employees health care coverage?"...Because many current plans
don't comply with all of the ACA regulations. Most policies will need to
be changed (and not for the cheaper).I didn't say they would
DROP their employees health care coverage. I said the plans they currently have
would be canceled (they must be cancelled because it's the law... they
don't comply with ACA regulations). And the replacement policy rates will
probably not be lower (unless there's an Obama-miracle before then). Maybe he will just pass a law (on his own, without Congress) mandating
that insurance companies can't charge more for the new policies and new
coverages than they did for the old policies. You never know...
he's done it before.---SOME people are going to
lose their company provided insurance all together (by having their work hours
reduced). But that wasn't what I was getting at in my comment. We
already KNOW many existing corporate policies aren't ACA compliant... and
will be cancelled. Most of them will be replaced with new (possibly better)
policies, but with higher premiums.
Re: "Six months from now, when the ACA website is fixed and Obamacare is
doing great, we'll see what this guy says"...But what if
after six months or six years, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, are
bankrupt? And ObamaCare is blamed for letting or making it happen? Then what would happen to his popularity?--- It could
go either way. We all know these programs are going bankrupt. The only
question is under WHO's administration will they go bankrupt. Each administration just kicks the can to the next administration to deal with
this painful issue. Sooner or later one administration's going to have to
actually deal with it and not just pretend it's not a real problem. I
don't get the feeling it's going to be Obama.----I lived through the Carter years, and Obama is nothing compared to the misery
America had during the Carter years. Obama is definitely better than Carter.
At least Obama got a second term to see if he could actually deliver on any of
the promises he made in his original campaign. The lofty promises that won him
the Nobel Peace Prize.
@2 bits – “I lived through the Carter years, and Obama is nothing
compared to the misery America had during the Carter years. Obama is definitely
better than Carter.”I don’t mind when people express
different political views than mine – in fact it’s one the reasons I
comment here. Further, I think the country would be a disaster under one party
(and opinion) rule without the constant feedback of hard questions from those
who see things differently. What I do mind and will call people out
on at every opportunity – another reason for commenting here – is
people who have no perspective, misstate facts, misrepresent history, and
consistently demonstrate poor logic & reasoning skills (often purposefully).
I’ve disagreed with many of your conclusions but generally
appreciate your arguments. After so many comments expressing totally
out-of-proportion Obama hatred, thank you for representing the “other
side” (if we can be so easily labelled) with some much needed perspective.
Esquire,Conservatives have had to deal with the liberal media for
decades. This liberal media bias undoubtedly influences the poorly informed
voters and influences elections. So now you see a report that you
don't like. Perhaps its too honest? Too close to the truth? So you
complain about it.Welcome to the conservative world.
Liberal or conservative, my friends, it does not matter. Journalism is dead. I
stand by my comments.
Carter was honest, naive and ultimately incompetent. Obama relies on slick
rhetoric and "improper promises," as the NYT called them, to cover up
his incompetence. Honesty is a more difficult judgment, but at this point it
doesn't look good.
Torture is a war crime, but Mr. Obama readily used the information from water
boarding to help locate bin Laden. In legal terms, that information was tainted
because of its origin and someone against such tactics would have ignored it.
Actually, Mr. Obama let it happen, he didn't make it happen. It's
ironic that the president blames Bush for all the country's ill, but
refuses to give Bush credit for setting in motion the process of finding bin
The economy turning, Iran take care of, what will tea party scream about?
Conservatives have NO credibility to complain with. If it's not the
website, it's Benghazi or a birth certificate or whatever will be next.
That's the same as saying someone is dishonest BTW. We know you
are going to complain and wail no matter what he does even when he implements
the Republican's own Romneycare plan or has the same policies as the last
president. No WONDER divorce rates are HIGHER in conservative states!
Bush lied and a million people died.Obama lied and insurance
policies died to make room for better ones.
