Aggie Pride.....Olympus had 9 sacks and 4 picks. It looked like they came to
play versus Logan. Give them credit.
@AggiePride"Last year Timpvew and East BOTH cheated on PURPOSE
and still got to participate. This year there was no mercy for Chase Nelson or
Logan." Are you kidding me? Do you honestly think that way all the time? I
just can't wrap my head around it. Clearly you wouldn't have beaten
East or Timpview had you played them. You couldn't even beat Olympus.
At least the reporter got his title right. They were the "4A best
teams" all year.
I found it interesting that the article states that East and Timpview were the
best all year while ranking Logan ahead of Timpview in every poll after the loss
to PG. All the talk from the Logan fans about them being slighted or left out
of the conversation is just whining. How many 4A & 5A quarterfinalist and
semifinalists were on your regular season schedule? Skyview? Anyone else?
Really!?? Timpview crushed you at home in the 1st round last year - IN YOUR
HOUSE! You were defending champs and couldn't advance past the 1st round in
2012. Slightly better this year going out in the 2nd round. You lost your best
player, but you still had a team, correct? Timpview lost it's best player
in 2009 (Bronson Kaufusi) and still won a championship. That's what
champions do! Win as a team. Stop the whining and come back when you can back
up your complaints with (championship) results on the field. (You do deserve
congrats for 2011)
And one last thing, Timpview has dominated Logan every time they've played
for the last decade it seems. So… like East, prove that you can beat them
first please. Congratulations to East and Timpview for a great season and a very
Why are we even talking about Logan? Those who are stop being disrespectful to
East and Timpview. They made it to the championship and were the two best teams
period. Stop whining about it and show some class and sportsmanship and let it
@AggiePrideThe two games Timpview played an ineligible player in
last year was human error (IMO so were East's) and they paid the MAXIMUM
possible penalty for it (plus 2 preseason forfeits for games he didn't play
in). The UHSAA would have had to break their own rules to prevent them from
playing. The Timpview football program was given no mercy on multiple occasions
soon after the 2011 season ended.Interestingly, Logan being
eliminated and not knowing how they would have done actually shows why removing
a top team from the playoffs shouldn't be taken lightly. Had East been
eliminated people would question whether or not East was the best team.I was really disappointed that Logan ended up being eliminated. Though many
would agree that the refs were more strict than they have been in similar
situations, kicking someone is grounds for ejection and they had given him a
warning earlier. In the end the refs were given a reason to eject Chase and all
Logan had to do was step up enough to beat Olympus and they would have had still
Logan had one of the best defenses in the state. It wasn't their defense
that lost the game against Olympus. It was 4 picks thrown deep in their own
territory that got Olympus points, and Logan STILL almost beat them.
Sorry, but Logan was all hype. I was tired of hearing about how amazing they
were all season and then looking at their schedule. Logan was carried as far as
they were by a great QB, and a easy schedule. Nothing more. You can blame the
officials all you want, but at the end of the day Logan had nothing to back the
hype. The second their QB didn't get to play they lost. Timpview has a
exceptional QB as well, but it has been their defense that impressed all year.
It was a team effort to beat East today.Timpview and East were
better teams. Timpview proving to be the best in 4A this year.
Logan would have had a darn good shot at beating both East and Timpview. The
punishment ABSOLUTELY did not match the crime for Logan this post season. Last
year Timpview and East BOTH cheated ON PURPOSE and got to participate, this year
there was no mercy for Chase Nelson or Logan and as a result, the state
didn't get to see the best player on the best team compete for a
Ding dong, East is dead! Love it!
@mdOh clearly Logan was the best. That's why they are, oh
I'm sorry they got beat in the second round. Therefore, they aren't
@pleblianIf you are the thorough reporter you claim to be, you need
to do just a bit more digging. You said..."The common opponent,
Sky View, evidences that Logan and Timpview are at least on par. Except that
Timpview squeaked out a win at home. Logan blew out Sky View in the first
quarter."Timpview beat Sky View first game of the season, you
called it a sqeaker. You also said it was at home, yes, at home for Sky View.
You said that Logan blew out Sky View, that it was over in the first quarter,
since Logan scored 17 points and won 52-21. Timpview also played Sky View at
home, winning 49-17. I don't call that a sqeaker.I guess if
Logan wanted a chance to prove how strong the were, they should have controlled
the hot head. And don't give me the injury garbage. He was fine while
running the touchdown, and he was fine while trying to walk away from the flag.
That kid cost his team a chance. But don't play the common opponnet card
when it doesn't work. I guess Utah should have beaten Oregon with your
Logan was clearly better than Timpview. Undefeated. However, dumb reactions by
a player and officials resulted in a lost opportunity to see the two best teams
play (Logan and East).
I concede that East was, coming into this year, the best team. And, like many
years before, has held the most impressive regular season resume. Until they
play Logan. Every year. Until they play Logan. As for Timpview, they
are awesome. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. They were never as good as
Logan. The common opponent, Sky View, evidences that Logan and Timpview are at
least on par. Except that Timpview squeaked out a win at home. Logan blew out
Sky View in the first quarter. So, as a reporter, be honest, thorough
and complete. Do not forget that Logan, sans an official's decision and
USHAA's arbitrary spine, was undefeated and rolling before begin deprived
of 4A's most prolific offensive player. The only thing that could stop
Logan before being matched up with East was USHAA.That said,
Timpview and East are certainly worthy of the Title game. I just cannot get over
the sour taste of how capricious officials and USHAA choose to be.
Let's go LEOPARDS!
