You couldn't have been more wrong, Bingham 5A state champs!! There was no pressure on Bingham, you and the media tried to create that farce, you just don't know this team. of Coach Peck

Whats with all this big talk regarding East? They just got it handed to them by a 5'7 150 lb QB. So much for best team in the state.

pleblian: Look at common opponents. Out of state opponents. Margins of victory. East may be just 4A, but has handed several prominent 5A powerhouses, and the best of Hawai'i their most decisive losses this year.

I won't argue that East is in the top two or three in the State of Utah, but bringing up out of state opponents is not something to throw in favor of East.

East beat Kahuku, but Kahuku has an overall record of 6-5 this season, they are currently ranked 11th (HI), and 1139 (USA) according to MaxPreps. Bingham on the other hand beat Valor Christian (at Valor Christian), they have an overall record of 11-1, they are currently ranked 1st (CO), and 31st (USA).

Each team is currently undefeated, each team can claim that they are the best in the state, but first they have to win their own classification.

The end results of the day don't take away anything from the fact that Bingham has the best program in the state year in and year out for the past several years.

I love how Peck tries to deflect the pressure. Bingham will play tight and Brighton will play loose. Brighton wins in the last couple minutes of the game.

East is probably the most talented team but scandal kinda tarnishes their program.

Punahou is the Islands best this year. Not Kahuku who was only 6-6, there are several Island teams better than Kahuku this year.

It would be a discussion for today. As with 2005's Logan team, 2013 East is likely the best in this state this year. No disrespect to other teams, which are also very good.

I would argue, based upon score differentials and quality of competition that neither Bingham nor Brighton have shown that that they are as good as East.

Look at common opponents. Out of state opponents. Margins of victory. East may be just 4A, but has handed several prominent 5A powerhouses, and the best of Hawai'i their most decisive losses this year.

I think it has been well accepted that Brighton is the only 5A team that can beat Bingham (I would argue that East is not as good as Brighton-but a discussion for another day). I still think Bingham will win the Championship today, and I don't think it will be as close as the last game. Brighton will play a strong 1st half, but Bingham will pull away in the second half. I expect a BIG game from Masina-at least 100 yards on the ground and 2 scores. I expect the same type of game from Nichols. The game changers in this game are the QBs. I thing Gearig brings more of a dual threat.
