BYU has sometimes struggled with good rebounding teams. Hopefully the bigs can stay out of foul trouble. That will be a major key. Few fouls on the bigs and lots of rebounding by the guards.

Awesome - I was hoping Haws would be back for this game. Hope he is 100%. Will need him in order to get the "W". Go Cougars!!!

If BYU defense plays a little better than it has, it should win this game. Their offense has played well (except against Colorado Mesa) the 1st 3 games. Good offense plus an opportunistic defense leads to wins.

I'm very excited that Haws will be back. I don't think we could have gotten the W without them. Hopefully Collinsworth can slow down Ejim and keep him off the boards.

Iowa State is big, athletic, and quick. Last year they handled by 20. This year I see byu keeping it a 10-15 point game.

The 2nd best team in the PAC (Oregon) struggled against the Wolverines of Utah Valley last night for 2/3 of the game and only ended up winning by 14 (UVU lost to Ok. State by 53)
Maybe the Utes can compete in the weak Pac-12, because they struggled against the Wolverines of the WAC.
BYU will give them a tough game it is at home, but who knows who will win this one.

UVU lost by 15.

Central, UT

And ZXU lost by 4 to FGHU who lost RDU by6 that beat DNA by 12 at home that coudn't compete with EIEIO. Therefore, we will be NCAA tourney champs if we can only win the WCC.

"The Cougars' last homecourt win over a ranked nonconference opponent came against No. 14 Pittsburgh, 93-73, in 1986."

Ironic. I remember that game. Tyler Haws' dad, Marty Haws, completely destroyed the Pitt guard line with his speed and ball-handling ability. The Pitt guard covering Marty started the game guarding him closely on the inbound and Marty simply blew past him a dozen or so times in a row. By halftime, when Marty would get the ball on the inbound, the Pitt guard was 10 feet back, in a crouch, and eyes as wide as saucers.

Ladell Anderson, the coach at the time, said the first half of that game was possibly the best basketball he had ever seen in college, and BYU was up by 30 points at the break. Pitt's all-world forward Charles Smith, a future #3 overall NBA draft pick, was in awe.

One of the greatest BYU games I ever saw.

@ Lovethe kittens
Thanks for your wonderful comment.
It brightened up my day.
No idea what brought the comment on.
I was saying what happened las night in Eugene.
And Utah should be better than UVU (coaching wise probably not)
Have a good day.

Oh goodie, she weighed in. Guess that means we can mark it down?

When yet another football season and promised Rose Bowl go swirling down the toilet, like the one before, and the one before that, you turn your attention to bashing BYU basketball, while all the while your own team has the most embarrassing program in the state. Nice.

Uh Crissy. They are big? If you actually read the article you see have seen that they are undersized. Next time try the reading thing first and then the spouting thing.

"Iowa State is big..."

Iowa State's ONLY player taller than 6'8" is only slightly taller at 6'9" and is averaging 11 minutes and 2 points per game.

Austin(6'11"), Worthington(6'10") and Mika(6'10") are all bigger, and MUCH better players, than Iowa State's "big" man.

Hey Tyler Haws - nice picture!

I attended that PITT game and BYU dismantled them. It seems like it was yesterday. Hard to believe that was 27 years ago, the year my son was born. My goodness how time flies.

Byu will win this game. They are tough at home!

BYU can't win. There are just too many 4-5 star athletes at ISU tonight from a prestigious conf like the SEC where Alabama plays. LOL! LOL!
