I hope it didn't seem like my comment was implying that Coach Mallory was not a top notch coach. IMO two years isn't always enough time to judge the success of a coach, especially given the state the Provo program. I am distant enough from the program that I don't know why he left and until I found out about it I still had high hopes for him with the Provo program.

As for Coach McGeary, I hope that his local reputation will attract kids to Provo. Who wouldn't want to have a top coach on a team where there are less players to compete for his time? Plus you would be much more likely to get varsity play time on both sides of the ball, increase your stats and stand out more. I wish him the best and hope the needed time is given to develop the program.

Lone Peak has a very poor administration. I coached there for a while and had many problems with the administration interfering with my decisions on students playing time; simply because a parent complained to the administration about it. The district in general is guilty of this . I coached through out Alpine School District for 9 years and have first hand experience with the issue.

I have known Tony for years. He is a good man and a good coach. His true talent is getting the most from the athletes. I wish him the best at Provo. I'll be watching the games.
