What do you mean: police found three kids at the home and did not question them and released them to their parents. I assume they are not releasing ,y information yet, or I would relly question police's work. Sorry for the los lives.

What on earth happened?

Obviously very tragic.

I am all for safe gun ownership.

We do not know the circumstances in this case, but one thing is clear to me.

Guns owners need to take reasonable precautions with their guns. When they don't, they should be held accountable.

Kids should NOT have easy access to guns.

I hope that people don't judge too harshly as they find out what happened. Our family knows this pain! The police must have some idea what happened. There is no going back! The best that they can do is to help the other boys deal with what happened. It is hard enough for the adults. That is why we should not judge. I know I am praying for all of them! I know it will help in some way. God bless them and be with them.

One reason Police don't release fragments of information is because it leads to false assumptions and oft worldwide judgment from national leaders, as we have traumatically seen in recent incidents. The South Jordan Police are being careful so rumors don't run rampant. In the few posts so far that is beginning to happen. Just because they found guns in the home does not mean the boys had or used them, or even had access to them. They were found during a search with a warrant. That means they search the whole place, even locked cabinets and safes.

What South Jordan needs is to allow the police do their job in a professional manner, and handle the investigation sensitive to all involved until the truth is known. I am sure this will be the case. So, don't point any fingers of blame unless there is substantial PROOF of the accusation. An accusation based upon rumor is a lie.

Pray for all involved that they will be safe and come to know the truth. Pray for those that were in the house and survived what was apparently a nightmare event. Let God prevail and let the truth come forth.

It is obvious that someone had access to a gun. Research clearly points out that the readily available firearm in a home is consistently used against family members. Purchased, with a false sense of fear for protection, the gun is the tool used in suicides, accidents, and murders of family members in the home. This tragic event just underscores the research. In Utah we talk about caring for kids, but we love our guns, and are paying the price for this foolishness.

Less than 1% of all deaths in the US are due to firearms. RIP

"Less than 1% of all deaths in the US are due to firearm."

I'm sure that provides a great deal of comfort to this family and other families who've lost loved ones to firearms.
