This is going to be such a good game. I think Lone Peak is the only team left with a D that can keep up with Bingham. Lone Peak seems to always figure out a way to play Bingham. They will come out ready, the questions is what is Bingham going to do? Will they come out and completely shock LP? LP will be ready and put all heart into this game. I expect it to be a very very close game. It could go either way whoever makes less mistakes and offense gets rolling and makes big defensive plays should win the game LP has come along way.

I think this will be an easy lopsided victory for Bingham. I watched LP play a couple of times this year and they just don't have the offense to score on Bingham's defense. LP's defense is solid against the run but it is susceptible to the pass. I would be surprised if LP scores more than 10 points. I doubt this would happen but if Bingham overlooks LP like they did Alta it may be close.

I think LP is a very quality program. But I think if Bingham keys on the QB, which I'm sure they are, and stop him, I don't think LP has enough other weapons to beat Bingham. I could see this being close for a half. But I think Bingham pulls out a win by 14 points or more in this one. All teams are quality teams at this point in the season. Bingham will need to come out fast and strong. But even if they do, they've proven they don't give up and panic.

@richapotamusrex- I beg to differ about the LP defense. I think if you were to ask LP fans, they would say the reason they lost to Herriman and Riverton was because they couldn't stop the run. After the Riverton game, they got a new D coordinator (Harward I believe?) and have turned things around on that front. They have stopped the run very well recently. Their pass defense has been exceptional. #6 and #3 (forgive me for spacing their names) are as good of defensive backs as you'll see at the high school level. LP is clicking on all cylinders right now. This will be a hard fought game and will be anything but "an easy lopsided victory" for Bingham.

The last two years when Bingham and LP were in the same Region and they have faced each other. Two things have happened. One, Bingham was favored by all the papers and the comment boards were heavy favoring Bingham. The second thing happened was that LP won both games. This year teams are different and Bingham is again very good. LP can't overpower Bingham, but their offense is really clicking. They were up 41-6 on Alta before the starters were pulled. The Murdock kid as a receiver has 10 TD receptions and can't be covered man-to-man; best route runner in the state. They have two RB's averaging over 5 yards per carry and their QB is one of the most dangerous players in the state. They have more offensive weapons than people think and both lines are strong. LP lost multiple starters to season ending injuries this year which created chaos early. They have won 6 of 7 and only lost when they sat many starters vs. Timpview. I expect turnovers and a few big plays will make the difference. Bingham is the favorite and should be. They are very good, but LP should not be overlooked.

The 5A final four here is awesome. Four of the last 5A titles are represented in this group. It's kind of a tournament of champions. Brighton comes in without the recent title but have certainly earned their spot at RES this year.

I don't think there are any easy wins left. I think everybody is bringing it and has the capability to win. The teams that execute best will win. Cliche I know, but there it is.

Bingham 27 Lone Peak 20
Jordan 41 Brighton 35

By the way, of the other seven quarterfinalists Bingham has already beaten Brighton, Jordan, Alta, Herriman and Riverton. If they get by LP and then win next week, they will have beaten 6 of the other 7 quarterfinalists and have a total record of 7-0 against those teams. It would be a solid statement title. But they still have to win two games. Just sayin'.

@hsfootballfan- agree with your comments about Lone Peaks defense looking a lot better since getting their new d coordinator. #6 name is Matthew Criddle and #3 name is Chase Stephan. They are both very smart, quick and physical. I understand both have had brothers go play at the next level. Stephan is the corner that has shut down all the top receivers in the state that Lone Peak has played including Mack Richards of Alta. No question these two are some of the best defensive backs in the state and at this level.

I have seen both LP and Bingham play three games this year. Both teams can be very dangerous and are well coached. Should be a great game.
