How's this for finishing strong?--Ranked 23-Sports Illustrated

"23.BYU Cougars
Last week: 24

BYU Cougars (6-3)
The Cougars got pushed around at Wisconsin, but the Badgers are pushing a lot of teams around this year. BYU should win its remaining three games, but to do that, it will have to dictate the tempo as it did earlier in the season. Wisconsin didn't let it last weekend.

Last game: Lost to Wisconsin, 27-17
Next game: Saturday vs. Idaho State"

Want to improve this team? Get rid of Anae. Let's be a bit more selective this team about who we choose - not a novice, someone who has proven they know how to hire the best position coaches, someone with some imagination at play calling.

Put it on the field Cougars. The Notre Dame game is a potential win, but unless every player gives 100% the entire game, it could end up like Wisconsin. ND loves to push. And BYU loves to stop the opposition. I hope Anae has a better game plan. Go Cougars!

If the o-line plays like they did against Wisconsin and the d-line can't close the gaping holes ND will tear up BYU. Fix these two things and BYU wins out.

I am not quite sure why everyone thinks BYU got pushed around at Wisconsin. Did they lose the game played at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Yes, they did. I agree with a commentor above. Late in the second quarter with about 4 mins to go, Anae could have had some better play calling. If anything to work the clock a bit to go in down 10-3 instead of 17-3. The wind did not help any at all either. BYBU wide receivers had Wisconsin DB's beat on every deep ball they threw, go back and watch it, they had 3 yards minimum on every Wisc. DB, which means Wisc. played the takeaway game on BYU by taking away the short underneath routes. If Hill connects on one or two deep balls, this game plays a lot closer and tighter than it did and it still was no big blowout like some think. My blame goes to Anae on this one, they players did their best against a bigger and better team. Anae failed. A run on 3rd and 11, you didn't surprise anyone, and short yards did not matter.

Good point. Wisconsin just tackled Apo or Hoffman on the times the deep throw was thrown. Flags were canceled as the ball was ruled "uncatchable"

Nothing like Senior Day and last home game of the season against a division II opponent!

Idaho State looking for their first and only division I win of the season.

And hey, Virginia got their only division I win of the season against byu....

But no, I think byu wins this one going away.

LOL!

Rivalry games are never a given. Good luck to the seniors.

Last home game against a D2 opponent probably feels like a last home game of the season vs. Colorado. Not quite the same though since Idaho State has never beaten BYU.

EastCoastCoug: Anae (and Taysom Hill) have turned the offense around. I was surprised to see Anae back, and I have scratched my head at some of the play calls, but overall the offense is much improved. Punting at your opponent's 33 yard line is what I have a hard time understanding, and that would be Mendenhall. I am fine with all the coaches; they have had some really good wins this year. Beat Notre Dame and I think this year is a fantastic success.
