It is my feeling that Mike Lee should spend a little more time representing people here in Utah rather than "struting around on the national stage"

Perhaps some of the readers could refresh me on what legislation Mike Lee has introduced and passed to benefit the people of Utah or the United States.

I do not seem to remember any of his legislation passed. Am I wrong?

My personal feeling is that he perhaps should practice what he preaches about fiscal responsibility in his own personal life.

It is called "Walking the Walk" instead of "Talking the Talk".

Mike Lee is the antithesis to the far left demagoguery. He is like holy water for democrat vampires. Mike Lee is the salt for left wing snails. He must be good or the Left would not be so afraid of him.

George of the jungle: inflation is running at about 2% annually. At that rate it is going to take about 40 years for your money to be worth half of what it is today.

Barack Hussein Obama is the one who is causing Americans to suffer by damaging the economy with his failed policies
... you mean such as asking Congress to pass a jobs bill?
... or do you mean that anyone with that name is bad?

Sarah Palin was criticized for predicting death panels in Obamacare. Looks like she was right, but will get no credit for it.
... she was criticized for being a careless mother, too.

All I see is inflation of the cost of living. At the current rate it is rising the value of my dollar only going to buy half as much by the time of the next election. My money matters.
... but the inflation is due to the war expenditures and tax cuts by the puppetmasters who put Bush into office, so they could get richer.

Nearly every poll says somewhere between 52% and as high as 59% of Americans still DISapprove of obamacare. Yet day after day we see politicians who attempt to stop/change it getting blasted in the press.

People should spend some time evaluating that disconnect.

Bad is bad and it is corrupt politicians that allow it to continue while in the backroom they are busy exempting themselves from being subject to the terms of it.

Wake up people. You are being used.

    ============

    I agree - sort of -
So now, let me explain your 'disconnect".

If you asked me if I disapprove of Obamacare, I would say YES.
Because I (like many MANY others) want a single-payer system,
with the public option [i.e., NO Insurance Companies making a profit using healthcare.]

Corrupt politicians let the Insurance companies come in and write the legislation,
    taking control of Affordable Healthcare.

BTW - It was the REPUBLICANS that did that when they proposed it in the first place.

Mike Lee is the perfect example of the Party of No.
I just checked Mike Lee's actual voting record thus far in the Senate....

    56 - Yea votes,
    144 - Nay votes.

And he has not voted Yea once FOR a single judicial nominee.
    100% Nay votes.

He is the poster child epitome of NO.

Just like being Mr. "fiscally responsibility" on his Alpine mansion,
His actions speak louder than his words.

If by Tea Party, you mean fiscally responsible and concerned about the future strength of the US Constitution, then I hope to believe that there are more than just a handful.

So if we don't agree with you then we are against these things?

If by Tea Party, you mean fiscally responsible and concerned about the future strength of the US Constitution, then I hope to believe that there are more than just a handful.

BTW, it is possible to fulfill the social contract, without putting the country into so much debt that we have no hope of ever climbing out of the hole.

It is also possible to fulfill the social contract without reducing the Constitution to a cute little platitude we once believed in, and nod at a couple times a year as Congress passes any law they think will get them re-elected.

It takes real guts to stand up for right and say "this is wrong", even when it is incredibly unpopular.

People should spend some time evaluating that disconnect.

People need to realize that it is the politicians that are attempting to represent the actual will of the people are the ones being vilified and run out of town. Why? So the corrupt group of long standing politicians can hold onto their power, kickbacks, and position and just keep "going along to get along" all literally at our expense.

I don't care what party people affiliate with but you need to stop accepting excuses that bad legislation is ok. Obamacare is bad on so man levels. Democrats know it. What legislation has been proposed to fix those problems? Nothing. Why? Why? Why?

Bad is bad and it is corrupt politicians that allow it to continue while in the backroom they are busy exempting themselves from being subject to the terms of it.

It's a good thing there is a party of no. President Credibility and the Dems agenda is so packed with lies. If you like your lies you can keep your lies.Thats what those who pack his water are saying.

While Lee said he continues to stand behind his effort to stop Obamacare, now it’s important for him to “help guide the political debate and discussion” to determine “how best the Republican Party can position itself for victories in 2014 and 2016 and beyond."

Why not just think about what is best for all Americans? Focusing on getting a win for your Party is the cause of class warfare and is what bitterly divides us. All need access to health care. There is no moral imperative to protect the health insurance industry.

Sarah Palin was criticized for predicting death panels in Obamacare. Looks like she was right, but will get no credit for it. The Democratic party is killing the goose(the economy) that lays the golden egg by hamstringing it with rules and regulations and high taxes. The Democrats have a lot of new taxes coming up for vote. An unimaginable number of people are on food stamps, welfare, and other programs, well over 100 bureaucracies administer it. That sounds efficient. I guess these days a desire to be fiscally responsible in the face of $100 trillion or more unfunded liabilities is demagoguery.

Barack Hussein Obama is the one who is causing Americans to suffer by damaging the economy with his failed policies. Senator Lee was right on in trying to stop Obama and his failed policies. Opposition to policies which are and will destroy this country and the economy is good policy. Some Americans did suffer during the shutdown but Obama and Reid were at fault for failing to negotiate. Millions of Americans have lost their insurance due to failed Democrat policies and Obama flat out lied about it. I had wonderful family health insurance and now I am paying twice the amount for a lesser policy with a higher deductible. The Democrat party is destroying this country with liberal Republicans as their accomplishes. Senator Lee has my full support and his efforts to stop Obamacare were heroic.

Let's run with saying "no" and never progressing until we get caught too many times.

Let's work on ridiculous legislation, meant only to make us look good to our contributors, and blame the other side for not passing it.

Let's refuse to participate in writing a Health Care law and spend 4 years pretending it did not pass, rather than helping to make it better

Let's forget that all Americans need our Government to move forward and do its job.

Let's put applause by people we have fooled above God.

____That is Lee, Cruz, and way too many others.

Mike Lee, the Jefferson smith of our day. the best Senator this state, and perhaps this country, has ever had! I have never been willing to go to work to re-elect anyone, but Mike Lee, as long as he doesn't join the long list of kingmen that are his contemporaries, will see me work day and night to do so!

Opposition to all things Obama is the only thing holding the GOP together. The surest way to accelerate their well-deserved exile into to the political wilderness is to have them start arguing specifics among themselves about what they endorse.

Mike Lee is second only to Ted Cruz in far Right demagoguery. He caused Americans to suffer and our economy to be harmed by urging default on the nation's debt ceiling. Shame on him.
