Snow Canyon handed them that game on a silver platter. Game was way closer then the final score.

Southpride56, I am not sure which game you were at but the Snow Canyon vs Juan Diego game was a very good game. Both teams played well and no one handed anyone a victory! Juan Diego is a very good team and those boys have been playing together since grade school. It will be a very tough game with Pine View and it should be exciting. I am confident JDCHS will regain the State Title this year!

Anytime a st. George team losses up north, it's because they gave the game away... I guess Southpride 56 will be hitting the repeat button on his post, 2 more times

I wouldn't be so cocky Scrappy...!PV is very good. I don't think JD has seen a QB as good as Wilstead this year. I agree it will be a good game, but I think PV can pull the upset! I'm a Dixie fan by the way!

well in the defense of 3AA, a lot of the schools down here have shown they can dominate the northern region (aside from JD and possibly stansbury) a loss to any of the other schools would probably have a lot of people scratching there heads wondering what the heck happened.

Im actually really excited to see the JD/PV game next week. If wilstead plays the way he did last night against hurricane, I think JD will be put to it's hardest challenge, win or lose.

And with Wilstead only being a junior, I wouldn't be surprised if PV gets back to back titles. With that though...they do have to play against a consistently top-not Juan Diego team. Good luck to Juan Diego and the 3 Remaining StG teams. all of you guys are most deserving to put up some excitement at Rice-Eccles come weekend time.

I know the remaining south teams are all very good, but JD was not given that game, they earned it by making plays when it counted... They have the weapons to make it happen every week... Considering the remaining teams.. The winner will have undeniably earned a championship... Good hunting to all, of course I will be pulling for JD

I do wish some of these north teams could build up their programs

JD vs PV should be interesting but I have a feeling the JD coaches will add a few wrinkles that will make it just a little bit tougher on the PV QB

The Warriors out-gained JDHS 347 to 238 in total yardage and had more first downs 19-13
That's a silver platter if you ask me

Yep and JD had 14 more points

it comes down to execution. you can 600yds against JD's 100yds, or 50 first downs to JD's 5 first downs, if you cant make the big plays when it matters then its all for nothing. JD made the plays they needed to make to win, and the Warriors didn't. so an argument could be made that the Warriors didn't hand anything over to JD on a silver plate, but rather choked on the meal being served on that plate.

They got dominated in every stat by the 4th seed from the southern region. I would be a little nervous if I was JD.

@Southpride56

Dominated in every stat except for touchdowns. Last time I checked the games were won on points not yards. You can rack up all the yards you want but if you don't get in that endzone then it was a waste. Go ahead and pat your stats but we'll take the win.

@southpride56

Did the domination of every stat by the 4th quarter win them the game? JD isn't overlooking any team from down south. They know how hard it's going to be, and I know the boys are a little nervous about any team they play, doesn't matter where their from. Don't think for one second any team is just going to come and run all over JD, it won't happen, JD is to well coached and when things look like a game might slip way from them, they will make their adjustments like they have been doing all year. Our JD boys are to well coached and disciplined.

I am looking forward to the JD/Pineview matchup in the semi finals. Enough talk about false accusations of recruiting. Let the boys play and let the best team come out on top. Pine view has a solid quaterback and good receivers. JD has a very good quarterback who can run the vere offensive better than anybody in the state. His receivers are outstanding as well. Defensively its a toss up. It will probably come down to penalties and turnovers. Good luck to both teams and hope the officials don't decide the game.

JD has far better coaching than Pine View, so I expect them to win. Pine View has a long history of choking on the big stage. JD does not. Obviously, players change from year-to-year, but Pine View still has the same coaching staff that has consistently failed to meet expectations. That begin said, the best way to beat JD historically is with great QB play, which PV has. See 2011 Spanish Fork and 2012 Dixie games.

Having faced top 5A, 4A, and 3A teams this year I can personally attest that JD is the most disciplined and best coached team in Utah. I'm not saying most talented, but they are always prepared. However, there are weaknesses. They get it done up front and usually with their backers... But the secondary is suspect. You will NOT run all over them, and offensively they will grind you to a pulp with "trickery." Best executed option in the state, hands down.
