Benzo: I'm sure you'll be reading this article. I'll give props to you on calling this a close game. And I'll eat my crow thinking Brighton would win more impressively. Sounds like it was very fun game to watch. As a west sider, was pulling for Herriman. Looks like it's 3 region 3 teams in the semi's. Good season Herriman. The program has good things ahead of it with the growth out in that area.

Gunner,
It's cool to see people come back and give props to teams that play really well. I don't know to many teams that can hang with Bingham and Brighton this year. Herriman just happen to turn into a real solid team this year and the future looks bright. We should see Bingham and Brighton in the finals!

@Gunner/@Sorryboutdat - Thanks for the good words.

This was actually the best game that I have seen all season. Both teams played very well. There were very little mistakes, very little penalties and a lot of offense. I have never seen Masina prior to this game...but he is an awesome runner.

This game was about offense, offense and more offense. In the end, this game was decided by who could stop whose offense first. There was only one punt in this game and it was Brighton that finally forced Herriman to punt in the 3rd quarter...and that ended up being the difference in the game. Other than that one punt, each team drove down the field and got either a touchdown or field goal.

For Brighton, I wish them luck against Jordan. For Herriman, even though they finished with a 6-6 record...it doesn't fully illustrate the strength of this team. A loss to Bingham by 13 points and a loss to Brighton by 5 points is tough to swallow, but I believe it shows they can play and be competitive in 5A.

Look for Herriman to be in the Region 4 and 5A mix in 2014.

Brighton's OL and RB get a lot of publicity, all of it well deserved, they are very good. But after watching that head to head, the Herriman OL and RB are every bit as good. I saw two All-State running backs last night and at least two All-State Offensive Linemen for each team. That was a really fun football game to watch

I love the fact the Brighton staff plays (and starts) underclassmen. We see too much of "play the seniors". Play the talent. It will pay off in the end.

Easily the best high school game I've seen all year, clean and pure. Only one punt all game and I only remember 2 flags. Both teams were basically clones, matching each other play for play until the late 3rd quarter and Herriman had to punt. Even then, Brighton had to score with under a minute left to take the lead and then Herriman was able to get to their own 30 yard line with 5 seconds left for one last play. The end zone heave had one receiver and two defenders, bobbled and knocked away by the defenders and that was the end. Very exciting game and both teams played a great, clean, classy game. Pure High School football, very fun to watch!

What you don't know "Sinkme", is that Herriman is also young...three starters on OL are Juniors, the QB is a Junior, are star safety/RB Cody Jarvis is a Junior and our DL are all Juniors...Herriman is a team to be Wrecking with...I predict a possible 10-0 season and straight to State championship game for Herriman...watch and learn guys!

Grammar aside, Tmf is correct. Herriman will return 7 starters on offense and 6 starters on defense, plus their placekicker, and their sophs only lost 1 game (and beat Bingham) even though the best 9 soph players all played Varsity/JV

The majority of Bingham's stud sophomores played JV as well. They had I believe 15 9th graders that didn't even dress in the soph games. They will have a lot of depth with experience in the next couple of years.
