LP played a great game from beginning to end and deserved the W. That said, how do you not get the ball to your best player #1 Mack Richards? Two receptions after catching 14 against them earlier this year. I was at the game.....he was open even though they rolled the safety over the top. Hard to imagine what the coach was thinking....some of the worst play calling I've seen. Looked like the second half of the Bingham/Alta game. 1st half Mack had 10 receptions 2nd half only 1. It takes a team to win not just one player, but 2 touches for the entire game???

Lone Peak smoked them. The difference was the line play this time around. LP's D-line got some great pressure on Lucero at critical times whereas last time he had all day. LP's O-line man handled the bigger Alta front. Not to mention Gajkowski played a flawless game. I think LP vs. Bingham is going to be a great game; LP has a shot to beat them, imo.

Didn't see the game today. But in the Bingham game I know they were dropping the LB's into the slant routes to allow more time for the D line and LB's to get to the QB. Sounds like they got to Chipper quite a bit today based on the article. But again, I didn't see it. As a Miner, I have to admit I was hoping we'd see LP instead of Alta. But at this point in the season, all games are going to be tough from here on out.

Croughton, Alta as you know it is done. I hope you enjoyed your last year of being semi-competitive.

Croughton, You were not watching the same game as I was on KJZZ. Go watch the game on KJZZ and you will see that LP shadowed Richards with their corner Stephan the whole game. Every LP game I have seen Stephan has shadowed the opponent's best receivers and shut them down. It was a tough battle between two great athletes. I am sure you did not watch all the film that the Alta coaches watched in preparing for the game. Alta's OC actually called a smart game but LP had answers for everthing they tried. Both teams have evolved since the first meeting.

Its going to be strange not seeing Alta as a true contender any more. You would have thought Corner Canyon would have been better taking the Alta kids.

Longnecker is a great defensive coach. Bingham will be the favorite but LP has a chance.

I just have to say what most people are thinking: AHHHHH, it feels good to see Alta lose!

Jordan fans are so excited to seee ALTA lose that its almost laughable, the wonderful HUMBLE jordan fans that the whole state truely loves of course, no one likes it more then when JORDAN loses!

Alta gets screwed over with a BRAND new high school 4 blocks away, and lose all its depth this year with the JUNIORS and sophs and almost all of the freshman class going over to CC

plus... Alta hasn't even been in the championship game for over 5 years now

@sorryaboutthat
Corner Canyons first year, they won there REGION! they just lost to the team that will win 4A this year, and your still not wanting to give them credit? they only had and I just counted on there roster, 11 seniors, there entire roster is JUNIORS basically, watch out for them next year in 4A to win it!

Great game by LP against alta

Bingham beats LP by 15 points!
Brighton vs Jordan will be a HUGE GAME!
Stoked for these games friday at the TURF!

Actually binghamalum I hate to say this but I would of liked to see Alta at RES. An all region 3 party at Rice Eccles would of solidified there is no better region than that one. Even with all the region 4 honks saying region 4 is just as good as Region 3. ha! 3 out of 4 teams there isn't bad, LP is a good football team; I underestimated them this year and now they're in the F4. Congrats for them. As for Alta, I have a feeling they'll be back. They always get good some how and end up winning something.

Do not count Alta out in the future especially if realignment drops the to 4A in the future... Maybe not next round but a few years down the road

Alta played the hardest schedule of any team in Utah this year! In years past Alta played a few Hard Non-region games, thus going into the playoffs with a great looking record. The past 2 years...out in the first round. This year, out in the 2nd rnd, not a down year. I give dues where they are due. For Corner Canyon to have such a successful season in their first year is nothing short of a miracle! But when I see Corner Canyon posters diss on Alta's team this year they loose all credibility! Probably 90% of their Varsity team would not have started at Alta this year and 95% of your players came up through Alta's football program, you are welcome. I would Love to see them play and put any questions in a coffin and buried as to which team this YEAR is better! Again props to Corner Canyon for hanging with programs like Juan Diego!
The two best teams in the state bar-none are East and Bingham! I loved watching the Black and Blue Game! When Alta plays Bingham both teams have respect for each other. After smashing each other, they lent a hand up.

As far as a decline in Alta Football's program, at least the next years is warranted. Alta's development football program from Gremlins up to Varsity needs tweaking. A little new blood added in with current coaching would really throw some new energy and wrinkles into Alta Football. The set up of Region 3 was a joke! Good teams spread out over many regions would raise Football Quality in the state of Utah. It's like separating regions making one the Pac-12 and the others the WAC. I am very thankful for all the coaches in the Alta Football Program for helping my son change from a boy into a man, thank you.

Im glad LP didn't read the papers about the all SEC party at RES. Baron your a stud!!! Keep up the hard work Knights and kick the butt"s of Bingham. They need a bit of humble pie. The rest of the state is cheering for ya. Take it to them. Goodluck!!!!

congrats to LP, you guys played an almost perfect game and Alta did not. Weak defense and four Alta turnovers were the difference in the game, LP capitalized on every one of them and Alta could never get out of the hole they dug. Best game I've seen Baron play, he was under control, made good throws, and didn't have any pressure from the Alta defense all game long.
Alta had a shot but give credit to LP for being the sole representative outside of Region 3 in the semis. I don't think they'll hang with Bingham but you never know what will happen. Jordan v Brighton will be a good game as well, I wouldn't count out Jordan.

I really really hope that magically Jordan gets to play Lone Peak in the championships. Then Austin can once again prove he is the better quarter back and Jordan can prove they are the better team.

There was no better moment last year than when Baron walked off the field with yet another RES loss handed to him by the team he left just months earlier.

Also Lone Peak thinks they are "true maroon" lol. I think not

If Bingham spots Lone Peak points like they did against Alta. Lone Peak will win going away. Bingham has had difficulty defending good passing attacks. If Bingham starts out good and holds the air attack in check early, Bingham will win. Either way, it's going to be a great semi-final game at RES.

I'm glad your team is out lol

I do agree that Bingham does have problems with passing teams but this year's secondary is probably their best, kinda tired of people talking before each game Bingham plays about how THEY are the ones that need to do this and that. Let's talk about what LP has to stop, An all state RB, Top TE in the nation, Speedster WR/PR. Huge O-line that opens holes. Mobile QB that can also pass. IF LP can keep all those weapons in check they may have a chance. It will be a great game. GO MINERS
