Does this mean the Grouse hunt is off?

I'm glad Utah Environmental Congress and WildEarth Guardians are on top of this. To weaken current Forest Service protections for sage grouse would be ill-advised indeed.

podunk utah

the people of Utah really need to give more thought to who they vote for in all local, state, and federal elections...maybe give them a wake up call and vote out some of the shortsighted neanderthals we seem to be stuck with

Of course the environmentalist and the feds have no consideration for the fact that most of the problems for the sage grouse and all other ground nesting birds is the massive populations of skunks, raccoons, weasels and other out of control predators.

Those of you who live in the city have no idea how truly large the populations of these nuisance animals have become. Add to them all the feral dogs and cats people drop off out here and you will truly understand why there are less pheasants, sage grouse, wild turkey etc....

The birds can not produce a nest of chicks in this environment. Most of the eggs can even hatch!
Stop thinking these predators are soft cuddly cute little animals and get real about the problem.
Most of us can't even keep chickens and other domestic birds without cement floored coups, heavy wire and a tough dog.
