A football game has no special meaning?? Really Dennis? Hence the downhill slide as of late. Every game should have some special meaning. Maybe he has lost his zest for coaching.

My prediction: ASU 53 - Utah 3

Proud of the way the guys keep fighting. Considering how close the UCLA and Oregon State games were, and coupled with the fact we are the only team to beat a top 10 powerhouse Stanford, this season has still given me a ton of hope for the future, WITH Whittingham

He knows how to have undefeated top 5 seasons. He's proven he can do it. Anyone who thinks he should be fired is clueless. I highly doubt any other school transitioning from a nobody conference to the second best conference in the nation would have done better the first 3 seasons.

If all we cared about was padding our record, we'd just go independent and schedule byu and usu 6 times each.

Things are not looking good for the Utes this weekend...they did surprise many with the win against Stanford, but since then though they've last two games badly. So my hopes aren't too high for the W this week; if Wilson truly has recovered (big IF) they may keep it close, but I wouldn't count on it.

We are somebody now because we are in a somebody conference and that makes us more awesome than byu now so we will win asu for sure because we are somebody! We got our hiseman candidate back to!

Utes 61
Asu 3

Go Utes!

Utah beating Stanford was the biggest fluke, would not happen again. ASU by 21.

Dennis Erickson lol, it makes since that a a school like utah would hire such a thug offensive coach. Look at his history in Miami. LOL

"...Utah beating Stanford was the biggest fluke, would not happen again...".

So a fluke is something that would not happen again...

Like byu's 1984 nc*?

Exactly.

The Utes and BYU will both end the year with the same number of PAC 12 wins.

Crissy, Crissy, Crissy,
Whit has an undefeated season playing cupcakes so you might want to stop the chest beating. that is ancient history. let's look at what he has done in the past three years. Exactly how many conference wins has he had since joining the pac11+u? I think I can count them on one hand.
It is sad that DE thinks that this can has no extra meaning. As down under said, every game should have some meaning. It is time for him to go somewhere where winning has no meaning.

For what it's worth, Dennis Erickson is an excellent coach but one of his deficiencies is flexing his muscles a bit as a coach. He didn't do that enough at Arizona State which is what caused a lot of issues. Otherwise, he was a good coach. As for this week's game, I understand wanting your team to win & such but ASU is hot right now and Utah just doesn't have the guns to stop them. Not this year anyway. I'm glad Utah is in the PAC now. I just wish they had brought in BYU instead of Colorado. Colorado? Who in the world thought up that idea. It's my understanding that Stanford balked at bringing in a religious school into the conference which is why they passed on BYU. That was a really dumb move.

Like Utah's 1944 NCAA tournament championship against the weakest field in the history of the NCAA.

"@There You Go Again

Only if that asterisk is referencing a footnote that points out this was the greatest win by a team from Utah in the history of college football. That game was played in the heart of the SEC, and no one gave Utah a chance. It also culminated what was, by far, the best season a team from Utah has ever put together. Utah knocked off three other end-of-season ranked teams on their way to seal-clubbing Saban's Tide.

Nothing BYU did in '84 compares. They never played any good teams. They didn't even play in a major bowl.
