Chase Hansen has another year left on his mission, maybe his return will offer a spark on offense... that is if he chooses to return to utah.

The prestige is quickly wearing off.

A week off? They're going to need it. No offense meant.

@Frankenberry

"No offense meant"....isn't that what Whittingham told USC's coach Ed Orgeron when they shook hands after the game?

Time to remind the BYU fans commenting on this article that Utah still owns U and it's four in a row with three years to go!

We give lots of offense at byu because we win them every year and we will win the rest of our teams with enough offense to win so no worry because we are bcs.

Go Utes!

@Ironmomo: Don't know. I wasn't there.

Glad to see your old wac mentality showing again. The ute season is a success if they beat BYU. What happens next year and the year after, when you know long have your bowl game scheduled in Sept? Pac ten doormats. Washington State and Colorado are glad your in the pac ten.

Maybe it's time to tell the Emperor that he has no clothes. Seriously, Utah and TCU were top-10 teams as recently as 5 years ago. Now they are totally irrelevant. The big fish in the little pond had it pretty good.

Someone posted on a recent DNews list of the U's top 10 wins that the Stanford win was the greatest win in U's history. That historical win somehow became a watershed win for turning the rest of the season into a bust. We're going downhill faster than Ted Ligety!

Sports is living out our wish of being strong athletes through the play of others.

I guess that's why some get so emotional about it.

Basically it's fun, and entertainment.

"Dissapointing" is an understatement. The last two games have felt like a punch in the stomach.

So which it it Ute fans? is it more important to be in the mighty Pac and actually win games, or to beat an independent by one touchdown thanks to very fortunate calls.

This is going to be a Long week off for the Utes. Mark it down!

jarka-rus,

Its more important to be good in the Pac 12.

But beating our indy/WAC brother just shows how big of a gap there is between MWC/WAC/indy-WAC teams and the Pac 12.

As "bad" as Utah is, byu and usu are worse!

Scoreboard!

With byu being incapable of beating Utah, and Utah being in the lower half of the conference(even with the best win any team in the state of Utah has had since 2008 Sugar Bowl over Alabama and a better win than byu has had in over a decade), would byu win a single game if we were to invite them to the Pac 12?

And no, we wont.

But seriously, if byu can't beat Utah, and Utah loses to most Pac 12 teams, who would byu beat?

I'd take Colorado over byu.

Chris B, yeah yeah scoreboard. I got it. However, it's getting to be a real stretch to say BYU is worse. I just checked the newest rankings and BYU has cracked the top 30...and the U is no longer anywhere to be seen on the others receiving votes list. I've said all along, over and over, that BYU's season is more than one game. I can't stand watching my team lose to the U, I really can't. However, I'd rather lose to the U every year and still end up in the area of 9-3, 8-4 and still have something to look forward to in December, instead of having it the other way around. The success of BYU's season is not based on the Utah game. Enjoy this week off, and not having to stress about a game. It should be good practice for the end of the season

Give credit where credit is due.
BYU is 6-2 with the 21st ranked schedule (probably the best record a school from Utah has had against this tough of schedule)
9 out of 12 teams BYU will/ or has played will play in a bowl (10 if you include Utah)
Houston, Texas, and Wisconsin could end up in BCS bowl games this year.
No offense BYU has lost to 2 of the worse opponents this year.
BYU victories (sagarin rankings) Texas-22, GT-33, BSU-38, Houston 40, Utah State 41, MTSU 110
Utah victories Stanford-7, BYU,24, Utah State 40, Weber 211.
BYU losses Virginia-86 Utah 39
Utah losses OSU-34, UCLA 17, USC 31, Arizona 30.
Looking at those rankings BYU has some good victories, and so does Utah.

All Utah needs is a good QB. They have the talent and speed at every other position.

Think how good the MTN West would be if TCU UTAH and BYU would have stayed. What could have been.. .

Now Utah and TCU are Bottom dwellers and BYU is playing for nothing every week.
