Someone clue me in. Why is it we have to take that bowl bid offered right after winning our sixth game against Boise instead of waiting till later in the season hoping for more wins and a bigger bowl? Or if we're locked into that bowl, why? If we beat Wis and ND, couldn't we get a bigger bowl that the SF one? Seems pretty obscure - and please, no Utah again. Let's keep it different with a fresh opponent, hopefully someone we can really give a good game with a chance to win. We need to solve the Utah hex before going back to them again. Sure, maybe we could beat them this time, but I like to hear us playing a new name with a good record! Utah seems wounded and I wouldn't want to beat them that way - only at full strength, which doesn't seem likely this year.

@ JLFuller:

Those of us on the "right side" of Idaho still refer to your school as Boise Junior College, something we all remember with great joy.

Boise has done some wonderful things in the past few years, but it sounds like you forgot your roots. BYU started their run of national rankings in the 1970's, won a national championship and have a handful of national trophies, Outland, Heisman, etc. All of this was happening when Idaho State beat you with the "Globe of Death" in 1992 and Idaho regularly beat up on you.

All programs have their ups-and-downs, but for goodness sake, beating Boise State is no big deal when you've beaten Texas, Ga. Tech, Notre Dame and a host of other programs who have been champions for more than a century.
