It was absolutely a great game and fun to watch! However, they have got to play the whole game against Wisconsin and Notre Dame the way they play the 1st half on both sides of the ball. If they do that, they have a very legitimate chance of pulling off the upsets. So c'mon Cougs, let's make it happen!

Go Cougars! Go Utes! Go Aggies!

BYU hands Boise it's first loss ever under their coach in October.

From the Idaho Statesman: "the Broncos’ 37-20 loss and the worst first half by a Boise State team in Petersen’s 100-game career."

BYU forced 4 turnovers. ZERO for BYU.

No state of Utah team has beaten Boise since 1997.

Yet the team gets a B+ score? That's a slightly above average game you're saying. How can you say that? It makes absolutely no sense. Despite allowing a few big plays and a few penalties, this team played near perfectly. This team deserves an A for smashing Boise, halting Boise records and beating BYU records at the same time.

Oh, and special teams a C? For missing a field goal and having very few chances to return kicks? Wow. As ESPN says, "Come on man!" However, I don't expect any praise from a usu person.

I correct myself, that deserves an A+, for also beating a team well respected around the football world.

Great win but I wouldn't call it a "complete" game. We gained 2 first downs in the entire second half. Our takeaways kept BSU out of the game. Our offense stalled and our defense really gave up some turf. We started our first 4 possessions of the 2nd half with 2-3 running plays. Four 3 and outs!! Also, if the defense is stacked and up close, something is open down field. Where were our receivers in the 2nd half. One pass to Hoffman?

I'd like to see a REALLY complete game.

I am with you EastCoast it was not a complete game. Why give a team a chance to get back in it. lucky the defense got the turnovers. It would have been a way closer game if they had not. They need to put the pedal down and then give the back-ups time to play.

Anae steps off the throttle when he has a lead and plays not to lose. Even Taysom Hill said that the play calling got conservative in the second half. When on offense, you have to be offensive. Anae calls a defensive game plan in the second half. That will come back to bite us eventually.

Special teams graded low because they didn't do a whole lot of positive. Yes, they made 3-4 field goals. But they didn't make any impact on returns. And on the other side they did give up a couple of big returns for Boise. I agree with the C grade for special teams.

As far as the overall grade, hard to give an A to an offense that once again struggled in the red zone. That has to change. They are leaving points off the board that could come back to haunt them.

And the defense did NOT play that well in the 2nd half. They gave up way too many yards.

eastcoastcoug
Danbury, CT I blame the lackluster 2nd half on Anae he slowed the game down, and became more conservatve he just needs to keep the pedal down in the 2nd half, and not be afraid to run up the score a little ,once he gets a 3 -4 td lead near the end of the game then slow it down.
